I was cooking dinner tonight in the manky kitchen in the rental, and gee I'll be glad to see the back of it! It'll be nice to have a proper kitchen, proper laundry, more than one toilet, more than one living area, internal access from garage, a garage in the first place.........someone stop me I could go one forever!!! Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Bel's new house - Upstairs bricking - Roof next 705Apr 07, 2011 9:15 pm Oh you poor thing, you have had to endure that rental for far too long now!!! Re: Bel's new house - Upstairs bricking - Roof next 710Apr 08, 2011 10:06 am The builders in other states are funny - our brickies in SA do a tidy job and the bricks don't need cleaning, they lay the bricks that are to be rendered messy - strange eh?? Re: Bel's new house - Upstairs bricking - Roof next 712Apr 09, 2011 11:10 am Yep double storey RitK11 how is it going? Ritk11 Very slowy We went to visit our clean bricks last night, but I had forgotten to charge the camera battery So said camera battery is on the charged with a view to get some pictures this arvo. I'm off to finalise tile selection now. Gotta get out to the Norwest, which is a 1 hour trip. Thankfully DH trusts my selections and is going to stay at manky rental with the kids, so I can concentrate. I'm getting my Dad to meet me there, so I've someone other than the sales person to bounce ideas off! Manky is the best word ever Dee - it's so descriptive, I bet you can picture my manky kitchen Mclaren The builders in other states are funny - our brickies in SA do a tidy job and the bricks don't need cleaning, they lay the bricks that are to be rendered messy - strange eh?? Weird hey Annette? Goodness knows why they can't keep the mortar on the bricks!!!! Although they did look very messy, I think it was more sort of sludgy watered down mortary stuff (very technical) rather than actual hard mortar bits iykwim. Pictures hopefully later - although we are having friends over, which my throw my best intentions out the window! Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Bel's new house - Upstairs bricking - Roof next 713Apr 09, 2011 11:44 am Heya bel, good to see more scaffolding..............ready for the gutters, etc.......... DH & I have decided to do the 'walk past' on the w/end mornings........that way we can keep any eye on your progress Hopefully the surrounding trees will stop growing long enough now, for us to see your roof go up Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Bel's new house - Upstairs bricking - Roof next 716Apr 09, 2011 1:38 pm Can't wait to see them Bel... looks great...I like your block too, very nice with the established trees.. Mclaren, that's great that your brickies just do a good job in the first place...... Our brick cleaners did such a terrible job, mortar missing and they sprayed bricks from one angle only so if you change direction you can see all this mortar left on bricks....very messy...and our bricks were quite rustic and I think the acid washed removed some of the rough texture I loved.....I wish our bricks werent washed at all...we are hoping the independant building inspection we hire will pick this up. woops sorry to hijack Bel.... Yes well there solution is to blame everyone else while I a 65yr old woman with major medical problems have to just continue to boil water and wash myself in a bucket… 2 16068 If you make sure all taps inside and out are turned off, what does the water meter show if you leave it for a while. 2 20314 13 6721 |
