Soo excited for you and I love the paddle pool you have at the end of the street I love the smell of fresh turned dirt..waiting to be covered in a big truck load of concrete, hopefully the rain will go for a month or two (or four would be nice ) so you can get things started.. Re: Bel's new house - Excavation pictures 565Aug 12, 2010 8:32 pm My oh my...cut and slice alright. (mmm for some reason Chocolate Mud Cake has popped into my head? ). It's full steam ahead now bel, yooohoooo...... hope it doesn't rain too heavy . In no time that will be one fantastic beauty of a house, can't wait.....yeeeeeeehaaaaaaa www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Bel's new house - Excavation pictures 566Aug 12, 2010 8:43 pm Hey guys, Well I missed all your well wishes - had a really great and busy weekend, my Mum turned 60 so we had a couple of dinners/parties which was great. And then I've had a busy week *blah* just want to play on H1 Anyway no progress to report. *blah double blah* Piering was supposed to happen last week/early this week, and surprise we had rain once again. Then I was told it was booked in for today/tomorrow but I had to work today, so just sent the builder an email - with no response to ask if they were on site. Will go check tomorrow and give 'em a call I did ask when the slab was due to be laid - when we are in San Fran typical - I wait so long and I won't even be here I'll be asking my girlfriend up the road to go take pictures for us! Oh and we are paying a variation to include internal gas points downstairs. I thought I had covered this, but apparently not. Just living here in the rental hell hole, has made me stress about heating and cooling, so I figure it gives us options for gas heating rather than running the reverse aircon all the time. Hate paying the variation, but in the scheme of things I suppose it's not too much. Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Bel's new house - Piering pictures 567Aug 19, 2010 10:06 pm Hi All, Well I have been so busy atm I haven't had much H1 time. And can you believe it - it's taken me more than 24hours to show you my latest addition to the block - piers Unfortunately I had to work, so Dad kindly met the engineer & others on site and watched it all happen. I had to push him to take photos (he thought it was embarrassing) but only had his phone, so quality is shocking. But hey - pictures are pictures aren't they?!!!! OMG so much to tell, so little time! Life is so hectic, I haven't really been around since I returned from holidays. So where to begin........ When we returned from holidays we were greeted with waffle pods and framing for the slab. They had also (obviously) completed the plumbing prior to that. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Conslabulations - Finally! And I've done the "the slab looks tiny" thought process more than once since it was poured. I keep telling myself a house of 34 squares is not tiny, especially since we are upgrading from 10-11 squares. Will have to upload the most current slab pictures in the next few days - Today is Hannah and Tommy's 4th birthday - so it has been a crazy few days. When I took these photos my girlfriend came with me. Whilst taking them, I said to her, how many photos of concrete is enough before it's a bit silly. She thought 10. I refrained from telling her I'd already taken more than that!!! (And she built 5 years ago, so should know better!) The tradies were so good about us being on site - they said to me - it's your house. When I explained I had heard horror stories of not being allowed to watch the major progress points - he said, well we have nothing to hide, go ahead and take photos. I took them throughout the day, and by late afternoon, they were still there. The kids wanted to see what all the fuss was, and I wanted to sneak in their initials in the slab. They were all still there (well 5 of the 8 guys who were working on the slab) finally sitting down having a beer/smoko break, which they said was the first of the day. (I hope it was with the beer anyway!). I asked if the kids would be able to put their initials in the garage floor - they couldn't as they hadn't gone over it with the machine - but then proceeded to find me another spot to do it, and helped me get them around the side! Their words - we didn't see anything. Love 'em! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Bel's new house - Conslabulations, holidays and progress 576Sep 10, 2010 9:49 pm The latest is that the external drainage has been completed this week, along with the electrical plan. At some stage I'll upload the completed slab piccies. We will also take a walk down the block this weekend, for some updated drainage pictures - who would have thought that would be exciting! The frames are due to be delivered this week, and I suppose that means they will start putting them in place also. It's nice to see tradies at the site, and know something is happening. I still haven't done the tile selection. The builder now has an alternative supplier to DL - so I'll be checking out their range also. It still doesn't need to be completed I *think* until we get a roof on and bricks, so I have a bit of time yet. Just as well really. Still not in. Don't ask!? How especially lovely that the tradies helped you to get the kids to a spot where you could do the initials. I'm so hoping we'll be able to do this too, but not making too much of a big deal about it in case it can't happen. ~ fantastic to see!! ~ J _______________________________________________________________ We're a knockdown | rebuild ~ Melb SE burbs Building modified version of the Fairhaven Glenaire Homeone thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28429 _______________________________________________________________ Re: Bel's new house - Conslabulations, holidays and progress 580Sep 11, 2010 9:07 am Wow! so much done and a holiday, you must be feeling on top of the world at the moment (except for the exhausted part) That's awesome you got to get the kids initials in the slab Yes well there solution is to blame everyone else while I a 65yr old woman with major medical problems have to just continue to boil water and wash myself in a bucket… 2 15998 If you make sure all taps inside and out are turned off, what does the water meter show if you leave it for a while. 2 20231 13 6605 |
