We bought our block in September 2016. Our building will commence late April. As of last month we started getting piled up dirt dumped on our lot. After work today I went to have another look to see if more have accumulated, and sadly it has - we now have chunks of concrete on it. We're assuming the reddish coloured dirt is from the house next door, but the other stuff, we obviously have no idea.
What should we do? Is it likely we'll have to pay for removal? Has this happened to anyone, if so how did you resolve it? Our budget is quite tight at the moment, so anymore unexpected will really set us back.

I had a similar issue. I spoke to the estate people and the local council, they didn't do much.. but the council did a few drivebys and warned the neighboring builders to stop.
My builder took care of the mess and I didn't have to pay anything. Apparently my builder spoke to the neighboring builders just before they started, and most of it was cleaned up. My builder cleaned up what was left.

That's terrible We had the same issues. Last to start and surrounded by 6 properties. In the beginning We stressed about this but when we started our builder just cleaned it up and we didn't pay a thing

We had to pay $1500 to clean our block.
Pretty sure it was the builder next door but "couldn't prove it". Once one person dumps it becomes a magnet for others and the more there is the more it will cost to clear. Our builder was happy to put up fencing early and coordinated with us clearing it so it was put up the day after.
It sounds like some builders will clear site without cost so I would check with them first and ask. If not ask if they can put up fencing early and get it cleared as soon as you can before more ends up on it.
It's $1500 we didn't have to spend and very frustrating!

I had a similar problem. My block remained vacant for almost a year. Builders and renovators started to dump tiles, torn carpet etc. So before it became a magnet I had the block fenced from all sides. Altogether it cost me 1k for the fencing and 400 to clear the dump. It was worth it for peace of mind.

That sucks. We had a couple near by builders dump some concrete and building materials on the boundary between our land and the land next to ours. I spoke to all the builders around, but without proof they wouldn't do anything about it. Spoke to my own builder and they would take care of it. But for a cost. I got them to put up the fencing early and I decided to take care of the mess myself, took a sledge hammer to the concrete and removed from what was on our land. Our neighbour still hasn't started building and their site is getting worse and worse everytime I go there.
Terrible that this happens, builders should take more responsibility for these things.
Hopefully you can get it sorted, but I would suggest the earlier the better. As Rocchet said, once it starts, it turns into a magnet and all others add to it.

My partner went to the block today to go through some of the trash and found an invoice....he's gonna follow it up. Let's hope it leads us somewhere. The crazy thing is our land is across the street from the main proposed park....I don't know why the hell they won't dump their crap there! So much space.

Good luck with sorting out this terrible example of inhumanity! Hope that invoice will give you a lead. Could very well threaten them with a council fine once you find out who it is!
This and looting during natural disasters is amongst the worst of scumbag things to do!
Just no other excuse for this behaviour than laziness and just uncaring.

UPDATE: We found someone to remove all the rubbish for a hefty price, but we never received an invoice and it's been two months. Yay for us Guess he was paying it forward...there's still good people in the world.
