Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Roof 142Oct 26, 2016 9:20 pm Looks great. It's amazing how quickly it takes shape. When is you estimated finish date? Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Roof 143Oct 27, 2016 4:21 pm The contract says a May completion date but I'm hoping it will be much quicker. Roof is finished and scaffolding is down. We upgraded our insulation so the foilboard might be part of it. Geez may is a long time for the size of your house. Love the colour of your roof so natural. Ps I changed my username from craigasaurus. I suck at user names and it's what the kids had used on a game. Lol Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Roof 145Oct 27, 2016 9:33 pm Yay for roofs!!! Looks very very nice indeed. If your builder keeps up this pace there's no way it should take till May. Maybe that's worse can scenario? We're hoping our roof will go on next week! Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes Our New Home in Gippsland - Roof 146Oct 28, 2016 6:17 am Thanks guys. Craig, you are still coming up as Craig on Tapatalk. I obviously suck at usernames too. Thanks for the comment about the colour. I have only seen one other with a gully roof. I wanted something a bit lighter but not too light. I'm happy with it. I am expecting we will be in well before May. If it takes that long I will very disappointed. So far it's been flowing well without any days with no trades on site. If it keeps flowing I'm guessing we will be in in February. We are renting and don't want to be here when it starts getting cold. This horrible rental only has gas heating and the nights can get down to low single finger temperatures during winter. I'm looking forward to a house that should stay warmer in winter and cooler in summer. We have all double glazed windows and doors and extra insulation. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Roof 147Oct 28, 2016 6:41 am I don't think it will take May AJB. We will both be in around the same time and you will get the keys before me..Early to mid Feb is what my builder said and my contract is 300 days... Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Roof 148Oct 28, 2016 8:22 am Thanks Reg. No one on site this morning Stupid long weekend. Grrr.... Someone has been there this morning and put this in. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I have no idea what it is or what it's for. It doesn't connect or is long enough to connect to our powerboard or water connection. And it finishes above a bedroom. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Roof 150Nov 01, 2016 5:14 am No Reg. The extra long weekend will mean no one will have been on site since Friday morning when that pipe above was installed. Hopefully we will see progress tomorrow. Hopefully we will see progress tomorrow. Ah, Melbourne cup day... Fingers crossed it will be an action pack day again from tomorrow... Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Roof 152Nov 02, 2016 4:11 pm We had one man and van on site today. He wasn't there at 10 and he was gone by 4. We have some foilboard on our walls and another layer of plastic over the edge of our slab. Probably plumbing rough in tomorrow... Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Roof 154Nov 02, 2016 4:29 pm That would be great Reg but I think the wrapping will take the rest of the week. Everything that normally takes a day has taken a week on our build so far. Windows were supposed to be delivered this week but they haven't arrived yet. This is my view sitting on the edge of our slab where the family room sliding door will go. I'm enjoying the view while my husband does the whipper snippering. Most of them have been put in the rooms they go in. One less thing to do on Monday. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Roof 160Nov 05, 2016 11:46 am I went to drop off some plants and work out where to put them and had to turn around and go home as there is a plumber there!
