Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 103Oct 19, 2016 5:08 am Thanks hrvat_ica. Your home has amazing views too. I love your house design. We originally designed our own home with a skillion roof and clerestory windows but lack of budget meant we couldnt build it. Maybe we could do it in our next house. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 104Oct 19, 2016 5:15 am After walking through our house I have decided I like the size of the windows. They seem huge at the moment. I realise once they actually go in they will be a bit smaller but they really show our great views. I also love the funny little corner in our family room and the back of it in our bedroom. It's little but it's something different to other houses. Our wood heater will go there. I was worried the kitchen would feel small but it looks to be a pretty good size. One thing that surprised me a little was the actual size of the living area. It's quite small. It will be the kids activity room. I will have to purchase a small couch or sofa to go in there so it doesn't feel small and cluttered. Our current couch that I intended to fit in there will be too big. It is awesome to see the 2D plans come to life. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 105Oct 19, 2016 10:02 am Oh awesome. The frames went up super quick. Our builder said these first couple of stages till the roof go Super quick then the pace slows down a bit after that. Everyday you are setting an expectation what should have been completed at my site when i visit after work Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 109Oct 19, 2016 4:53 pm Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 110Oct 19, 2016 5:53 pm I had an issue with the bank today. They wanted to see receipts for our kitchen appliances and our wood heater before releasing funds for the slab invoice. We thought we could buy the items in our own time. We were going to put the heater in closer to winter. We have purchased appliances so that was ok. Our broker rang today and said we had to have a receipt for our wood heater or we had to pay an extra $3099 (as that was the price of the quote used for the valuation) to the builder. We thought we'd have plenty of time to save for a wood heater and now we have to hand over $3099 this week. So frustrating. I needed that $3099 now. So I transferred the money to the builder and will need them to issue another receipt and invoice tomorrow so I can then satisfy the bank. The invoice is due to be paid on Friday. I'm also expecting the frame invoice any day. I'm so over the bank!! Now, when we are ready to buy a heater we have to get and invoice and send to the bank for them to pay. More paperwork. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 111Oct 19, 2016 7:21 pm Pfft that sucks about the bank awesome to see so much frame work completed. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 112Oct 19, 2016 9:14 pm Looks nice AJB (you overtook me)... Bank is just trying to reduce their risk exposure as much as possible... Shell explained this well once... Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 113Oct 20, 2016 6:49 am Congratulations on slab and frames AJB!! Things seem to be moving along at a good pace for you! Has your builder given you any indication of how far along you will be before things stop over Christmas? I'm hoping to be atleast at lock up stage, making it harder for people to get in while it's quiet over Christmas. Our frames are going up this week too, haven't received the invoice yet so they must not have finished them. I like you am dreading receiving the invoice as our bank has been pretty rubbish too and this will be the first invoice they need to sort (slab one we paid for ourselves). Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 114Oct 20, 2016 9:30 am I understand the bank needs to reduce their risk. I guess, it's more the broker I'm frustrated with. She should've warned us so we had time to be organised. Anyway, I'm waiting for the builder to issue me a receipt so the bank knows we've paid the extra money and will release the funds. I don't have any real idea of how far we will be by Christmas. I'm hoping lock up will be a bit sooner than that but I really have no idea. Our frames must be nearly finished so we should get another invoice any day. I'm crossing my fingers the bank is ready to pay the slab invoice when it's due tomorrow. I don't want them to stop working on the house because the invoice is overdue. I just drove past and the scaffolding was just going up. So hopefully gutters and fascia soon. We are hoping to have roof on, windows in and wrapped by the end of next week. It's perfect building weather today Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 115Oct 20, 2016 1:38 pm Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 116Oct 20, 2016 2:04 pm So nice of your neighbour... Sailing on smoothly AJB and you are too fast I don't think I can catch-up Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - Frames have started 119Oct 21, 2016 7:29 am We had a phone call today to tell us the truss company stuffed up part of our roof. They asked if we wanted to leave it and lose 150mm from the sticking out bit in our lounge room or lose a day for them to fix it. We chose to have them fix it. What's a day in the scheme of things. You might catch up now Reg and Craig.
