Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - bricks 221Dec 05, 2016 8:08 pm Awesome. My favourite part so far was plastering. Hopefully it's a productive week at your house. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - bricks 222Dec 05, 2016 9:24 pm Thanks Kat and Craig. I think my favourite part so far was frames. I liked walking around the rooms and getting a feel for their size. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - bricks 223Dec 05, 2016 11:33 pm Wow nice progress with bricks and Yay! they started plastering... once the plastering is finished make sure to visit the house at different times of the day to see how much natural light you are getting... Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - bricks 224Dec 06, 2016 11:40 am Thanks Reg. That's a great idea. I will visit a few times over the weekend. We are normally there around 6pm so it will be interesting to see how the natural light is in the morning. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - bricks 225Dec 07, 2016 9:02 pm More bricks and plasterboard went up today. Our builder has changed supplier as they weren't happy with the last one. I enjoyed the process and picked similar tiles, carpet and flooring but completely changed the colour of my tile splash back in the kitchen. It's now "satin purple". It was a neutral taupe colour. But I thought today, what the hell, go with what I like rather than sticking to a boring neutral colour. Purple is my favourite colour. It's not a bright purple. It's more of an eggplant colour so quite dark. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Awesome that your bricks are done. You'll get an invoice soon. Hope the plasterer is back soon to finish. Then all the fun stuff happens. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - bricks 228Dec 12, 2016 8:54 pm Thanks for thinking of me Craig. We were actually locked out today which was a surprise so I am expecting that invoice soon. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - bricks 229Dec 12, 2016 9:21 pm Nice progress. We're at a similar stage, except our bricks aren't done yet. Purple is my favourite colour too, but hubby won't let me do that to our new house! Yours is going to look amazing. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - bricks 230Dec 12, 2016 9:35 pm Woo hoo!! You overtook me...my eaves are not plastered... Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - bricks 232Dec 13, 2016 6:26 am Thanks Beac and Jord. We were hoping for bricks and plaster before Christmas. Anything extra like the eaves feels like a bonus. I don't think we have overtaken you just yet, Reg. You've had more done on the inside than us.
