Browse Forums Building A New House Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 21Oct 25, 2016 2:13 pm I've got all the documents at home (currently at work) so I can't remember our colours. From memory the cabinets I think are polar white. Yea it might me a little bare but you will have the subway tiles as sort of a feature it would look awesome! I'll speak to my wife about the window in the kitchen, I was just thinking about the light. Vancouver is pretty bright so I think it should still be bright without the windows yea? Re Exterior - I cant remember also as everything is at home. But from memory we went for colorbond - nightsky color and thats all I can remember lol. I'll check when I get home. I was wondering do you think we could exchange email addresses as it might be easier to talk there and also easier to send stuff like photos and pdfs? Only if you dont mind of course Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 22Oct 25, 2016 2:31 pm Sgene85 I've got all the documents at home (currently at work) so I can't remember our colours. Only if you dont mind of course Yes ours too. our house is very white internally! I guess it depends on how your home is positioned on the block as to how much light you'll be getting into your home. without the big glass window for us its night as light at the werribie home, however we have a larger galley window too. From memory our plans had to go through dispensation to approve the amount of light into our living room.. and i imagine that is why... we saw no issue for it at all .. was just another delay.. our house is east facing! I am at work also and dont have access to email except work email unfortunately. I can give you my email however youll need to tell me once you've sent one as I can only check on my phone outside of work hours. Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 23Oct 25, 2016 3:16 pm I think our walls is astor white. Our galley is slightly bigger as well similar to the Highgrove display. Our house is east facing also. Did you get the bath and powder room floor plan? Re email no problem Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 24Oct 26, 2016 7:23 am Sgene85 I think our walls is astor white. Is highgrove werribie? I measured our galley in comparison to a 33 and ours was actually longer which i found strange. Anyway more space haha Our floor plan is on the topic. Remember we are the 29 but with lots of chnages so currently 31. Yes we got powder room option Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 25Oct 26, 2016 10:11 am High grove is is Clyde North. Riverwalk is the estate in Werribee We are copying you and moving the overheads to the galley. We will also get rid of the fishtank window so that the kitchen will have the canopy rangehood with subway tiles all the way up Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 26Oct 26, 2016 1:45 pm Sgene85 High grove is is Clyde North. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ my predicament is pendant lights.. 2 or 3 over the bench..??. given that the rangehood is a stand out along with the tiles, do think pendants would look funny in front of the rangehood, or would it look better with two placed at either side (obviously over the island bench) im so undecided. Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 28Oct 26, 2016 3:17 pm I agree which is why we deleted the fishtank window, plus it will be easier to clean How do you upload photos? I don't know how to use this website. Yea I saw something similar last night on pinterest (get on it if you dont have it, its awesome!). Yea I love that idea of having some sort of wooden shelf on both sides. Well if it helps, we added two pendant provisions one on each side on the island bench Since I dont know how to upload a photo, see link. This is how our kitchen will sort of look. HfouZbM%3A pretty easily actually, they have finally upgraded the page so it works but usually in google chrome only. Internet explorer i have problems with. Also using on my phone is easy to upload. At the bottom of this box i have the options to Upload Photos, link photos or link videos, do you see that? from there is just a simpl upload. Yes i love that!!! looks fantastic, so you have a mixture of polar white and the dark cabinetry? nice idea! Did you just go laminite or did you upgrade? glad you saw it!!! i must say it was very neat brickwork to be putting render all over it hahaha my husband went past yesterday and could see the plaster guys in there so thats super exciting for us i cant wait till our next walk through. What bricks did you decide? Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 31Oct 27, 2016 9:43 am Ahhh, I normally just use the quick reply at bottom. So to upload photos you need to click on "Full Editor". Yes, so all throughout our stone will be Matrix blanco. In the kitchen the back bench will be polar white cabinetry with subway tiles as backsplash. The island bench will have dark cabinetry. We'll have a dark looking wood flooring. So the whole feel will be really industrial. I'll see if I can find some photos, I changed phones so need to find the photos from my phone when we went to selections Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 32Oct 27, 2016 9:49 am Sgene85 Ahhh, I normally just use the quick reply at bottom. The full editor does not let me upload photos We are doing our flooring outside of PD as its way cheaper. We went for the standard bricks, I cant remember the name lol, it was red. Looking forward to checking out your kitchen! Looking forward to checking out your kitchen! oh really bummer... uploading files from the computer is the best way rather than sharing links etc. Although yesterday i had alot of trouble uploading photos on this topic for some reason. Yes same! so much cheaper, and PD really didnt have alot to offer in terms of selection that makes two of us Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 35Oct 27, 2016 11:51 am I wonder as to why I can't upload photos. Are you using the homeone website? National tiles are having a sale on Nov 1, 25% off everything. I'll PM you my work email address if you want to communicate by email as its so hard to communicate from here Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 36Oct 27, 2016 2:28 pm Sgene85 I wonder as to why I can't upload photos. Can you take a screenshot of how you upload photos? That looks nice!! We were also originally sold on going wood - solid oak. But we got talked out of it when we went into a display in Woodlea. These were the points: 1. They are harder to maintain 2. They get scratched easy with hills, moving furniture’s, pets etc 3. They are loud 4. Expensive 5. they expand or shrink So the question was, did we like floorboard/timber/wooden floor because of the look? Our answer was yes. Then they recommended timberlook porcelain tiles. They look and feel exactly like wood/timber/floorboard except tiles are easier to clean, good with pets, cheaper. So I’m pretty sure we will be going to timberlook porcelain tiles and we’ll save half the cost Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 38Oct 27, 2016 3:49 pm Sgene85 Strange because I am also using google chrome. Yes agree, we have floorboards now at our current home and never again! Hence why we have gone a timber oak look laminate, its amazing. It looks and feels just like timber without any kind of wear and tear thats noticeable. They are really large panels too. The dents and scratches esp with kids would be my nightmare too. yes i have seen the timberlook tiles, they look great and so do the vynal have you seen those? They are also worth considering to if you want to avoid the cold effect tiles have, vynal is really smoothe under foot! Re: We are building VANCOUVER 33 with PORTER DAVIS 39Oct 27, 2016 6:37 pm The timber look tiles will be much colder under foot, and then you need to think about grout lines, where timber is a smooth surface.... Pros and cons for either. I'm actually surprised that the tiles are cheaper to be honest. When I've seen them, they are > $75 sqm....plus laying. I guess for my wife and I, we were originally thinking of going oak (not timber laminate) which was $120 sqm. So $60-$70 sqm for tiles is definitely half the cost. And for the reasons I provided on my previous post, we think we will be better off going with timberlook porcelain tiles. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12332 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110559 |
