Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 29, 2016 7:59 am Hi everyone, We will be building for the first time & would appreciate any help on working out the total cost of building - there seems to be a lot of hidden extras that aren't discovered til you've started building...trying to avoid that so we can move in & not be left out of pocket!! So far this is what I've found, please feel free to add to this: 1) stamp duty 2) basix 3) soil testing fees 4) cost to level block if on a slope 5) items not included (if going with a project boulder instead of a master builder) - air con, driveway, water tank, window and floor coverings..... Any and all tips are welcome...and thanks for the advice - such an exciting time. I'm just hoping to avoid nasty (expensive) surprises. Thanks!! We found that anything other than a flat block will attract extra site costs and charges and if the block is narrow, you might also be hit with 'double handling' fees which is when supplies have to manually be carried down the side of the house to build...for instance bricks. viewtopic.php?t=83651 Building a modified Sheridan 35 thanks guys! yes this is how I've exactly raised it with the builder. still awaiting response. 12 6047 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA?
