Almost a week late thanks to rain and public holidays but it got done! And it looks pretty pimp. Very pleased with the size as well. Frame has also been delivered and according to site supervisor (so far we have gotten a weekly update every week on Thursday or Friday) the frame will be done next week. We didn't have much action this week, the remainder of our frame was delivered and that's about it. Site supervisors weekly phone call let us know that the carpenters have been booked for Tuesday/Wednesday this week so hopefully we will have a frame up by this coming weekend. Which will be the end of week 5 for us. Anyway, I've read other posts about next door builders using their electricity/water and thought that's a bummer. Imagine my surprise when we went there on Saturday and there is a hose over our fence leading to our next door neighbors block. Our next door neighbors block that has just had their brick work completed thanks to our water. I'm a little annoyed. We were advised by stroud to get the water connected as soon as we could so I did, and it cost a couple hundred dollars with the council, and now either our neighbors haven't done this and I'm paying for them to use my water connections or they have got a connection but the builders don't realize and aren't using it? Anyway, sharing is caring so I'm going to be the nice neighbor here and not make a big deal. At least not until I see my water bill haha. Anyone else had this happen recently and have a rough idea of how much extra money this will add to my bill? Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 71Oct 21, 2016 8:56 am AJB It's so exciting walking around the rooms and picturing your furniture and selections all coming together. I can't wait till this weekend when I will be able to get out there and have a look. Hubby gets to see it all today. I hadn't really thought much about furniture up until now, but now that it feels like I'll actually be getting a house in the foreseeable future I've started making lists of all the new things we will have to buy. It's quiet a long list ... ? Most of our current furniture we bought when we were renting a townhouse as Uni students. It was suppose to be the 'we'll get this now cause it's cheap and then upgrade it' furniture and yet it's been like 8 years and three houses/rentals later and we still have the same crappy furniture haha! It's absolutely time for an upgrade!! Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 72Oct 21, 2016 11:54 am Wow, I've missed the best update!! Yay for frames!!! Jesus you house looks massive!! How many sqm is it again? Ahh I am feeling you on. The furniture, we are starting from scratch and it I feel broke already just thinking about what we need lol GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 73Oct 21, 2016 7:17 pm charlibear Wow, I've missed the best update!! Plenty of room for two people and a fur child. I think we're going to start from scratch too... I know if we bring any of our crappy furniture with us we will end up dragging our feet whereas if I get rid of it before hand it should force us to buy new stuff. Or at least that's the argument I'm going with. You got a start date yet?! Our acreage build: Queensland: Stroud Homes Re: Acreage Build: Jimboomba - Stroud Homes - Kentucky 304 74Oct 21, 2016 7:20 pm Hubby came through with two photos of the frame. It's 98 percent complete. Looks like there is a bit missing over the entry as that bit is suppose to be pointy and at the moment it's square. Had a panic attack thinking I'd missed an invoice but nope they've still got a wee bit before they can bill me. I'll be heading out tomorrow to get a feel of the room sizes and some photos!
