Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 22, 2016 10:32 pm Hello, This is a fat chance I know, but am trying desperately to track down anyone else who is building in spring farm nsw. The estate is Parkview and there are 2 sections 5a and 5b. I am after anyone particularly who has purchased for section 5b on corbett close? After any news/updates? I know this plot of land is part of a super lot but we are really struggling to find out consistent/accurate information regarding corbett close. We were told we'd be in our new home by August 21 2016. This clearly isnt going to happen. Star hill the developer has screwed the builder Dickinsons over and that in turn has screwed the purchasers of these lots over. So frustrating and upsetting. I can not seem to find anyone else who has purchased these house and land packages.... Thanks Mikki Re: Building in Spring Farm (Parkview) Section5B Corbett Clo 2Jun 24, 2016 8:21 am If your sunset date was before Nov 2015 you need to take them to court however if it after, the developer can't just rescind they need to go to the Supreme Court and ask for permission, they then need to prove they have genuine delay issues if they have done this to make more money then they will loose in court. I suggest call the department of Fair Trading and also council, also go there on weekends to the land and you will find others visiting to see if something is being done and also ask the real estate to pass your tel details, call other builders and ask that way you can form a group and do a class action which then will not cost as much. You may like to put an advert in the local paper it may cost you some money upfront but it is worth it. At the end of the day the real estate needs to be the one keeping you updated but a few are corrupt and work with the developer. Yes, I am one of those who bought a land+house package in the stage 5b release. It's pretty disappointing to see how things have dragged. However, I can confirm that the lot was registered a few weeks ago and in fact only just settled this week. So Dickinson are keen to start building ASAP. You can always reach David Broadstock in their Elyard office for updates, he's been quite helpful thus far. Hopefully we get to move into our houses by the end of the year. Look forward to meeting you then. Cheers, dxn Re: Building in Spring Farm (Parkview) Section5B Corbett Clo 4Apr 13, 2018 10:16 pm Just thought I let you know we won the court case after 3 years and also won court costs. The court system stinks and it cost the 7 of us about $70K and so far we only received $45K back, The build of the house went up by $70K so it was worth it as we onl y paid the original contract amount, but the Judges need to change the law as in the 3 years the developer never even put evidence in and just kept making stupid excuses and the court system just kept giving them more and more time. Re: Building in Spring Farm (Parkview) Section5B Corbett Clo 5Apr 13, 2018 10:38 pm Wow - thats great new congratulations I’m sure you are all relieved after what has been a grueling journey. Yes seems laws favor the building industry and not the buyer it’s disappointing because you work incredibly hard and then you come across dishonest people who seem to get away with so much. I hope you received the outstanding balance and wish you all the best Re: Building in Spring Farm (Parkview) Section5B Corbett Clo 6May 02, 2018 7:44 pm Thank you the only issue is the builder has gone up now by $70K plus the out of court difference is around $25K so around $100K out of pocket if we built back in 2014.
