From online feedback their post handover support seems to be really bad. Have not seen any complaints about build quality or finishing. Re: Building with Mimosa Homes in Melbourne West - Johanna 2 44Sep 15, 2016 2:34 pm We were looking for anything to fit between 24-26SQ which meet the requirements of 4BR and living. We liked Riva26 and that they can't fit. Burbank was able to fit 28sq on same lot with Alfresco on side. Anyways,it's too late for them. I have to finalise build as it has already settled. Re: Building with Mimosa Homes in Melbourne West - Johanna 2 45Oct 15, 2016 12:49 am Have you started the build? Are you still with Mimosa? Actually we are planning to build Johanna 240 bed with them. Re: Building with Mimosa Homes in Melbourne West - Johanna 2 46Dec 07, 2016 5:54 pm Apologies for late reply, i been really busy. Yes, we decided to give Mimosa a chance after meeting their business manager who apologised for earlier staff and assured quality and service. It's going really well. New consultant was amazing and responsive. Build has started, Mimosa was really quick to attend site and slab has gone in this week. Re: Building with Mimosa Homes in Melbourne West - Johanna 2 47Dec 16, 2016 7:23 pm I have engaged Darbecca as independent building inspector. So far really happy with their service and reports, they identified multiple issues which were not advised/notified by builder, even though i have independent inspection included in quote with Mimosa. However, Mimosa has been good to look into identified issues and rectify so far. So that's a good sign. Anyone know if Building Surveryor will be doing same inspection as building inspector or there is a any difference? I am a bit confuse that why these things were not identified or advised by builder's inspector vs my own? Re: Building with Mimosa Homes in Melbourne West - Johanna 2 48Dec 17, 2016 11:40 pm Hi jmasood The building surveyor is just for mimosa - Your Darbecca is the one who will pick the mistakes and u need to keep the builder on his toes to get it fixed - It is with almost every builder whether Carlisle, Henley, porter davis or any other - It is good u used a private inspector - just chase the builder to rectify the mistakes pointed out follow my build Arden homes Votivo 37 iin south east: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88622 Re: Building with Mimosa Homes in Melbourne West - Johanna 2 49Dec 17, 2016 11:48 pm Thanks. Yaa Darbecca did help, in pre-slab they found 7 defects. Mimosa fixed those and send pictures for confirmation so i am happy with their ownerahip so far. I was confuse how come the surveyor issued approval with some serious defects in slab and framing that's why i asked. I am asking for their surveyor report as well. Re: Building with Mimosa Homes in Melbourne West - Johanna 2 51Dec 20, 2016 1:44 pm surveyor or their own inspectors r useless irrespective of builders - sometimes if SS is not responding u may have to escalate to the management - just keep the reports and keep chasing follow my build Arden homes Votivo 37 iin south east: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88622 Re: Building with Mimosa Homes in Melbourne West - Johanna 2 52Dec 20, 2016 3:57 pm True, i am directly escalating to customer service manager i am working with. She forward it to SS and his boss to get things fixed. Happy with response, they are getting carpenter on site this Thursday to fix identified frame issues and send us pics. My inspector will re-inspect the frame when you site for next visit. Is it not unfair that we have to pay extra to keep builders honest for something they should be delivering as per standard and workmanship? you house will have many issues if not identified during build stage and builder will then blame you for faults and not covering under warranty. Decided to go with original selected colours, hope it comes out well.
