I've seen it done both ways with dark and light roofs and don't mind it either way. For example one house I saw had monument roof and weatherboards in a colour called tranquil retreat which was pretty good. Tossing up to go dark grey for our colorbond roof or a lighter colour like surf mist. It's quite a narrow house so we want to make it look big. Weatherboards will be some kind of white or similar. Any thoughts? Thanks! Also, don't forget landscaping, it makes a huge difference to the facade http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu98/bellao4/Lees.jpg Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colour questions? 65Oct 07, 2016 8:10 pm Very relaxing and two totally different looks your's and mine. This is my facade and the square projection on the top left side of the facade will be cedar batons similar to the image I posted below. I am looking at using 2 greys for the render colour (a light grey for the main render and a darker grey for the portico. Given the portico is quite large, I really want the colours to balance well rather than have a huge contrast in greys. It also needs to go well with the cedar timber which is a feature. Our facade will face south so colours shouldn't get as washed out as they would if it was facing north or west. This is what I have so far, please let me know what you think? Main render: Dulux Dieskau or Dulux Flooded Gum Portico: Dulux Malay Grey or Dulux Raku (Dieskau is a possibility also) Window frames: Monument or black Feature projection: Cedar battens Guttering: Monument Fascia: Monument Downpipes: Surfmist or shale grey Roof: Barramundi Garage Door: Surfmist Door: Corinthian cedar Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Colour questions? 70Oct 12, 2016 10:48 pm Hi Michelle, You might have missed my small post Can you please assist on below when you get a moment. I would love some help! I'm literally having paint nightmares and have paid a small fortune in paint sample pots! We are having the main render on the front of our house as well as the gutter/facia around the house painted! Two storey rendered home. My dilemma is primrose window trims and a orange concrete roof! (Yup ?) Dulux consultant came out and gave us some grey colours but they were all too light and just didn't work with the house! Now we're lookin at colours like self destruct, gnu tan, linseed, candle bark. We need two different colours one of the main render and one for the Window/roller door render surronds! Before I spend even more on samples! I'd love your help! Re: Colour questions? 75Oct 16, 2016 8:20 am Gemz8 ??? I would love some help! Good morning - Who makes Dhimba? Hi Michelle, Dhimba is from Wattyl. At the moment we are leaning towards this laminate "Belle Alpine Oak Ice Grey (wide)" Re: Colour questions? 79Oct 17, 2016 3:20 pm Michelle Gorey I have a question too on colours for my facade. I'll pick up some paint samples of flooded gum and malay grey and try them out. Michael Re: Colour questions? 80Oct 19, 2016 5:35 pm redpixel Hi Michelle!
