Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Colour questions? 81Oct 20, 2016 2:01 am Hi Michelle, Was wondering if you could could help with an external render colour choice? Cement render has been done and now setting in for 2 weeks before the paint goes on. I like the Hamptons look but unsure if this facade will suit. Something like a light-grey/grey with white trim windows. But what I also like is the European standstone look, I usually see this on bigger homes though. What are your thoughts? Also, for the internal walls, was thinking Dulux - Natural White, and for the Ceilings and trims Natural White - Half Strength. I was thinking of something more brighter for the narrow hallway, can you recommend? Or just stick to Natural White? Many thanks Re: Colour questions? 83Oct 20, 2016 6:20 pm Hi Michelle, We're looking for a wall colour that is bright and neutral. We have high ceilings and are west facing. We thought to go Lexicon half but our painter warned us against it. I was considering geisha grace but I'm very unsure. Any help would be most appreciated. Can I ask why your painter recommended not to go with Lexicon half? Thanks for the quick response Dee. We have Lexicon Full in our current house and I was thinking of doing it in half for our new house. So hearing advice on this from the colour expert will be good, keen to follow. I was thinking of doing Dulux Natural White for the internal walls and Natural White in half strength for the ceiling and trims. Am I on the right track? Hi Dee16, and what did the painter suggest after the no personality Lexicon? We've gone with Geisha's Grace. All sorted, very good. But then again.. fepending on what suits with a bluish cladding Re: Colour questions? 97Oct 28, 2016 5:16 am Hi topiwalab, My suggestions.... A charcoal roof, not black. Stone work with a blue mix in it, if you can. A light to mid blue on the cladding. Other than that there is not a lot of scope for blue anywhere else. I'm assuming there is more cladding around the sides and back of the house. What colour would you recommend to paint internal trims and doors if the walls are kitty grey. We prefer the cooler tones and don't want to much of a contrast. Would it suit to do the kitty grey in a half or quarter strength? I would really appreciate your help.
