Still no plaster or bric 3361Jun 17, 2017 9:03 am Can you schedule a meeting with the area manager or go to their offices to have a face to face discussion. We have done that with our builder - before the start of the build when we were concerned about all the last minutes changes and delays, we met with them at their head office, we didn't fully agree with everything but we both made compromises and had a plan going forward which really helped. Recently (last week) we scheduled a meeting with our SS and area manager onsite to talk about the delays and it has really helped all of us, the builder and us with expectations and communication. We may ask for more meetings in the future but will wait and see, at the end of the day no matter what, we need our builders onside to see the thing through, the stress of building is like nothing I have experienced as I'm sure you feel too. 5 months into our build and we still haven't got a roof but I at least feel assured we will get one by the end of July! Fingers crossed and hoping the weather gods are kind!! Our Acacia build - http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86619 Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 22... Still no plaster or bric 3362Jun 18, 2017 3:07 am Just caught up on your thread, and OMG... wtf! When I think about all the positives with our build and others, I keep thinking about to yours and wonder why you aren't getting rub of the green!! I really like MrsJM's words of wisdom (another dear and unfortunate one gone through a horrible torture build) about the reality of the builders' situation.. they need to make that deadline or it's someone's head on a platter, or worse.. a sacking... I can totally agree with your stress, worry, and skepticism. If only they could just be upfront and reasonable rather than arrogant and uncaring... would make the whole painfully slow build more palatable. It just really sounds like they don't care or are just oblivious to the emotions and concerns of their clients. Totally on board with a bunch of cushions from all of us to be sent your way... I really hope our support and empathy helps you get through all this!! Hope you have a good rest of weekend! So now your plaster will no start until the carpenter has returned, then book another council inspection and then if they pass they can start the plaster.
