Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 14 Roof Trusses Started 2821Apr 27, 2017 6:33 am That's the one thing that's getting me through, that maybe the carpenter is all about quality over time so is going super slow to get everything right GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 14 Roof Trusses Started 2822Apr 27, 2017 7:41 am Such a tough balance quality over time! Coz you can't quantify how much time it takes to achieve quality. But totally with you in support with your building dilemma!! Patience is a virtue they say, then you are more virtuous person in that regard! I wonder if the SS is a bit old school and doesn't communicate so well? Especially if GJ Grafton are working with a few projects in the area, not just in Lismore? I can imagine he's gonna be on the road a lot getting from place to place if there is. However, even if that is the case, it's a shame he's not being transparent to be kept in the loop if and when there are delays or issues! It's nice that I can ambush them at their office if I have to bcoz they are in town! You probably don't have that same ability given their office is a bit down the road from you... maybe they should set up an auxillary office for all the Lismore builds!! It makes me wonder are they making that much from us chumps that they think ok let's just work 6 months of the the year. Even though ours is nearly finished it's going to be at least a 6 month build when they told me it would be maximum 3 month build as it isn't viable for them to go over that timeline. I wonder if we should take double time to pay them although they have our homes ransom and as you say us over a barrel. I get a progress email from GJ every Thursday or Friday arv... wonder what this one holds...
