SS is going to the house today, I've asked him to send me photos... not holding my breath for many, I think 3 is the most photos he has sent me, if he remembers to send them lol He told me painter is finishing up and tiler will be back Monday to start main flooring I've been busy organising bits and pieces for the house, insurance quotes, water for the tank is being delivered next Thursday 50,000L to half fill the tank trees will be delivered next Friday... 24 Ironbark trees next weekend I am planting them... hubby can't get work off so I've got a family friend with a motorised post hole digger to help me out once we get council approval then they will mysteriously die 3 weeks tomorrow until keys... can it come any sooner? When do people start to pack? I was thinking even if I start by put out winter clothes in bags, so it's less to pack we it gets closer... we had 31 here yesterday ☀️ I feel like I should start packing but I have no idea where to begin Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4002Aug 17, 2017 7:25 am Omg Charli !! Yesssssss!!!! Holy wow that's a lot of water! Our tank has been empty for weeks not to mention it's faulty anyway so if we did have water we can't use it you poor thing planting all of those. Sending strength for planting and packing. The worst part of packing is having to leave out toiletries, couple of changes of clothes etc I had a bag of random things and it did my head in Building with Perry Homes - Were in!! viewtopic.php?t=84756 Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4004Aug 17, 2017 12:43 pm I have recently packed a bunch of clothes up as I ran out of space to put anything away in my drawers and wardrobe- if I haven't worn it for months or it doesn't fit but I don't want to throw it out, it's been packed into the vacuum bags and hidden away in my massive suitcase. Amazing how much stuff I've felt the need to hold on to, but I very very much look forward to having a walk in robe, and I'm up for the challenge of filling it when I move in haha. I've also got all my kitchen stuff in boxes (I don't currently have a kitchen!) and I've just packed up all my books (A4 paper boxes borrowed from work are a good size for this!) as I mainly read kindle these days but don't want to throw out my books but also don't currently read them so into boxes they go. Not sure if that helps at all I'm half packed but won't be moving for 6+ months hahaha Omg 3 weeks til keys that is so exciting!! I'm so happy for you that they finally started getting stuff done!! Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4005Aug 17, 2017 4:02 pm Woohoo for 3 weeks til keys! I just started packing yesterday and by that it's mostly sorting because I don't want to take a lot of stuff into this nice new house. So yeah having a first cull for trash/sell items then packing up what's left! Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4006Aug 17, 2017 8:11 pm Exciting times I started packing weeks ago and have constantly irritated hubby with things he wants are already packed lol Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4007Aug 17, 2017 8:21 pm I'm so stoked to see so much happening at your house CB, feels like you have been building forever but so happy it's nearly over. It's a weird feeling moving in as you think about it so much and when it finally happens it's bizarre (and the reality of landscaping kicks in and your back wants to die ) You have 2700 ceilings?? Did you increase the internal door and stacker door heights?? I also saw you brought a front loading washer you will love it, I have a 10kg Beko front load and it's fantastic. Can't wait to see some more pic updates Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4008Aug 17, 2017 8:28 pm Very exciting!! Not long to go and we aren't far behind! We have started packing and have started moving stuff out to our shed. Never too early to pack!! Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4009Aug 17, 2017 9:57 pm It's never too early to start packing! I haven't started yet however I have started going cupboard by cupboard and having a serious cull! https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4011Aug 18, 2017 6:18 am We've done the big cull and all of our big furniture is in our shed 6m away from the house lol winning I've told hubby I'm packing this weekend so if he wants any warm clothes he better hide them I told him yesterday I was having a freak out moment about when to pack so when I came home he had already started, he has done a cull with his clothes... an op shop pile, keep pile and bin pile... god love him!! Seriously can't believe in 3 weeks we will have keys... originally we should have had keys next Friday on the 25th but they pushed it back 2 weeks I'm concerned thought, we get keys on the 8th the SS wants to do PCI on the 6th... he won't budge on that date... 2 days to fix any issues Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Can't wait to see some more pic updates You're the third person to ask us about our ceilings, we only have 2550 high ceilings... might take a tape measure out... well our contract says 2550 but with all the stuff ups GJ have done I'm wouldn't be surprised if we have 2700 ceilings now that would be winning I'm freaking out at landscaping, mainly the cost for the ideas I have... a vertical garden for in front of the ensuite and then to step and retain the rest. If we retain and step it, we probably need to step it 3 or times and at 30 long, budget will not like that one I can't wait to do washing, how sad really but where we are living, it's like you to have to schedule in a time to do washing it drives me crazy, as batty as it sounds I want to do washing on my own time and own terms Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... We did a huge full when we moved into my mums and I'm hoping for a second round cull when we move into the new place. I'd start packing now if I were you, time will move way faster than you think. We had months and I still found it a rush right at the end. Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4014Aug 18, 2017 7:58 am We have been packing for months... hehe. But don't forget to keep it all organised and labelled. nothing like fishing through multiple boxes from a rushed and motley packing job. Maybe doing a little measure wouldn't hurt. I've opted for 2700 ceilings with increased door and window heights, just trying to get a visual. Hehhehehhe any fluff up on there part is winning if it's in your favour. Ohhhh a vertical garden will be awesome, I've seen them made with pallets (your local bunnings generally give them away for free) making a footing and brace so it's freestanding could be a little tricky but will be worth the effort. Mmmmmmm I'm hearing you on the retaining we have a lot too, I'm considering going big sandstone blocks but the machinery higher to put them in place is nuts. Maybe I'll just get Mr T to build retaining walls again, if Mr Cb is handy he could build yours too it would save you a fortune. Re: Charlibear's Build - Week 30... Tiling & Painting 4016Aug 18, 2017 11:52 am You don't have square set cornice, do you? My inlaws have 2550 with square set and we always thought it was 2700, we thought they were getting old and forgot what they had until we got the tape measure out Tribe7 Your ceilings look really high?? Hehhehehhe any fluff up on there part is winning if it's in your favour. Tribe I have what you're describing. All windows were raised to match door head heights, but only some were increased in size.
