I'm in limbo land not knowing whether to buy things in the Boxing Day sales or wait until we actually move in case it blows out to Feb or March.
I know exactly how you feel on that one ive got stuff to go in the house all over the place

The other part of the equation is do I sell my old furniture just before we move. The things I know I will be replacing in the new house. Then it saves time and money transporting it. But what if we sell for instance our dining table and then the house is delayed and we have a significant amount of time without one. Or we get to the new house and then can't find what we want on sale and go without for a while Are we better to hold onto everything and then try and swap it all over once we are in. Decisions, decisions.

I think you starting following our insta-blog last night... we followed you back

Ours is - https://www.instagram.com/ourhamptonshomenewport/

We were going to build the Marriott Grange (QLD''s Waldorf Grange equivalent) but last minute changed to the Marriott 47. There were a few things my wife liked about the Marriott 47 over the Marriott Grange, which made sense for us, the hardest part was forgoing the lovely void in the living area.

We have our contract appointment next Tuesday, once that's all done, I'll start a build thread on the forum to share our selections and the reasons we chose that particular house.

Oh great! Look forward to watching your build progress. Once we saw the void in the Waldorf Grange we just stopped looking at any other houses

It was the very reason we also fell in love with PD. It was the first, and at the time, only display home in QLD. They didnt have any of the other houses available, so our first choice was naturally the grange.

I won't clog up your build thread, but I'll explain our reasoning in my build thread. Looking forward to seeing your finished house.

This is great. Will be keen to follow your styling fur inspo ☺

I know exactly what you mean. I think it's going to be a good idea to keep an eye out during post Xmas sales, especially when it comes to big pieces where you might get a significant discount. The only issue is storing everything!

The little styling nik naks I think can wait until you've moved in and getting a better sense of how you want it to all look and tie in together.

Finally the ground floor is starting to be rendered. Quick snap just after they did the area around the garage.

Yes, I look around at other house styles and say "That's very 70's" or "Those colours were so in back in the 90's" and I hope with the Hamptons style you can't attach a decade to it as easily so it hopefully will be timeless and not date.

It shoudnt Californian bungalows that highlight that style have always been cool.

Looks great! What colour were your weatherboards again? So to keep asking, it’s just we chose timeless grey too for render and lighter grey for boards. Looks so fresh. Windows pop too!

The lining boards are Champignon 1/4 strength which was the same lining board colour as the Brookwater display home in Bayside. Now just need the balcony and pillars to be painted so we can see the whole effect.

Is your garage door Surfmist?

Yes it is. It was the whitest option in the Colourbond range at the time.

Awesome, thanks heaps. We have chosen the same. Looks great! Sorry for all the questions, living vicariously through other people’s builds! Ha ha. Is your roof basalt?

Greys and whites are the new blacks.

House looks great guys. We nearly built this exact house as it was the very first house we saw that we liked immediately.
