Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building the Waldorf Grange by Porter Davis 541Nov 24, 2017 2:54 pm Yeah until PD opened the QLD display I had only ever seen pictures of the Melbourne builds, so it was totally a surprise to me to see that they did this when I went to look at the house for the first time. I'm really glad they did, because we're building on a corner block, so we are going to have that entire side of our house on display for the secondary street, so I think it helps to bring the front facade the entire way around. There was nothing else curved in the house. Everything has straight lines. And for something that is a huge feature in the entranceway you want it to be right. - View my blog at www.waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.com Re: Building the Waldorf Grange by Porter Davis 550Dec 06, 2017 6:42 am Hey Waldorf, just popped into your blog. Totally see what you mean about the stairs. Much better with a straight bannister. Glad you got that win. As for flooring, I think the warmer colour is a good thing. We decided to go a little warmer on tone to offset all the coolness of the whites and greys. Less chance of it all looking washed out if you know what I mean. Everything is looking great by the way. Sucks you won’t be in by Christmas as planned but better to wait until after all the Chrissy madness IMO!! Thanks Ryan, we are really pleased with how the colours are coming together as so hard to visualise full size when you are choosing from tiny samples. And we chose our samples mis 2016 so it has been a long time. Re: Building the Waldorf Grange by Porter Davis 557Dec 13, 2017 6:55 pm Our side boundary fence went up today >> https://waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.co ... uent-gaps/ There are quite a few gaps to fill as the land has a 2m fall plus there is a retaining wall that we had to put in to get our permit. Any ideas on what we can do landscaping wise here please let me know. Re: Building the Waldorf Grange by Porter Davis 558Dec 14, 2017 7:10 am So we noticed our retaining wall didn't go all the way up to the garage but in the drawings it did. So this morning I emailed my site supervisor about this as water and soil would run through the gap onto the neighbour's property. He has replied to say they will extend the retaining wall all the way to the garage as per the drawings. Good to double check everything as that wall has been in place since the start of the build but it was only when the fence went up that we noticed the gap. I accidentally came across the same facade couple of days ago in keysborough, there was a beautiful xmas tree all lit up on the balcony with the lights all around. It looks amazing at night time.
