Fair enough re the scaffold though I felt like I was a child being told off at school which was a weird not very pleasant feeling! My SM tells me the rainhead has to be on the front because of a change in plumbing regs which say box gutters can only run one way and hence need to terminate in the same direction. I said this seemed odd and if I had it in writing I would accept it. Re the bricking...well let's just say he seemed oblivious to what I was saying despite having the photos in front of him so he's agreed to look at it on site. I also politely sent him a photo of brickwork done well (thanks Orph) as a comparison of what I expect. Let's wait and see what happens. J that's bloody annoying. If we see issues its better to report it!!! Well I hope you get it resolved Jason. Look forward to your updates. Jason I had a similar conversation regarding the plumbing regulation changes and my CSC said we can still do it , but this will not be the case going forward. You may want to check if they can still do it if u really feel strongly about the changes Glendale 39 build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83907 Re: My Metricon Phoenix in Melbourne 108Aug 16, 2016 10:57 pm Sizz_G39 Emmz70 jasonwg Just a quick note...after writing to my SM on Saturday re brickwork, I got a strongly worded note (copying in some others at M) back last night about accessing the site without a M representative, especially the scaffold and that this was not OK & against OHS. We have a friend that works for a university and is flown around the world, taking drone footage for various projects/departments ect. He can fly/land that thing with amazing precision (hes currently working in Greece). They cant complain about accessing the site if you dont step foot on it I make no secret Im going to set up time lapse cameras/go pros and was going to have our friend take some drove footage. I think this is a really valid point! We are spending bucket loads of money and you're left feeling that they want to keep you away so you don't see the mistakes & poor workmanship so anyway of keeping the builders honest & accountable is critical. What did they say about your approach? Plus I'll send my mother in law in with home baked goodies every other day. As I said to hubby, from reading threads here, we have to check weekly (a couple of times per week) to make sure things arent being skipped/missed. Researching split home designs for our KDR downward sloping block Re: My Metricon Phoenix in Melbourne 111Aug 17, 2016 7:26 pm Well I am just fuming... I have been told via email that the rainhead cannot be relocated (some regulation quoted reiterating that the rainhead cannot run in a different direction to the biz gutter)...not happy but OK...howeve wait for it... and that my SM has checked the brickwork and deemed it within code, quoting the guide to standards and tolerances 2015 with respect to masonry construction and that there is no need to align perpends in any wall. So basically even though it presents as average at best, they won't be doing anything about it. Not happy!!!!! I did speak to the construction manager about having it at the side instead of the front and he said he would see what he could do but not sure what will end up happening. Might have to send him a reminder with a picture showing the house next door to my rental having it! Ggggrrrrrrr to brickwork!! Is your independent inspector coming to check brickwork? Not good - good luck with your request, mine was a flat no. Re the bricks, yes they will be checking them during inspection but given its 'within' code, I can't see anything changing. We have an appointment with our sales rep soon so I will ask the question and let you know. As a matter of interest, does anyone know if M charge a re-design fee for build variations eg for an extra WIR or en suite? I know, and no response today either. How'd you go with your sales rep? Re your question about redesign, I don't think there's an extra fee as usually it's an option as someone else would have done it in the past / M want you to add on & spend more. The costs will sting when they tell you how much more it is vs the base plan! Good luck, keep me posted with your progress J Hi A+C, How did you go with getting your stone upgrade costs clarified? Keen to know whether I should be pushing about mine if it turns out I was overcharged. M seem to be ignoring me on this issue now! Meanwhile inside I arrived to 5-6 painters (maybe more) onsite and according to MyM website that will be finished in the next few days. Tentative lockup date is 31 August. Can't wait to have cladding up & the facade start to reveal itself! Here are a few pics I took...
