Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bahama 50 281Apr 13, 2017 11:04 am I am loving watching this build, house looks great. What is your main floor tile called? Was it standard? Thanks Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bahama 50 282Apr 13, 2017 6:15 pm Update from our end...the handover did not take place today as planned, I was informed at the the last hour, absolutely gutted. We wanted to use this long weekend to settle down but not to be. The new handover date is next Friday. Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bahama 50 285Apr 13, 2017 6:45 pm AlstonvilleBuild Oh no, why no handover? Why the extra laying charge too? The additional laying charges are for the rectified edge, it was around $3k Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bahama 50 286Apr 13, 2017 7:16 pm That's such a blow. So they reckon that they'll have it done next week, that's another short week mind you. How frustrating! Fingers crossed it happens. How disappointing for you! Surely they knew yesterday it wasn't gonna happen. But going through it now- much better to get it fixed before you're in. Every man and his dog has to come back to my house now. What kinds of defects did you identify? C U S T O M. C O R A L. Why the extra laying charge too? all the defects I raised during the walk through we're not completed and hence the delay. The additional laying charges are for the rectified edge, it was around $3k That sucks, sorry to hear. Do they make 2 versions of the Heartwood white? We have chosen that tile, in a pressed edge and didn't get charged extra to lay it. Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bahama 50 289Apr 13, 2017 9:15 pm We are about to choose our tile and didn't see heartwood white, only eucalypt but I like the white much better. If it is in the standard range I didn't know you'd have to pay any extra except maybe for grout - I'm still learning! What grout did you choose with it? Was it included? Hope you get in soon! Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bahama 50 290Apr 21, 2017 6:40 pm You would think that I have some sort of alarm going off....did handover happen? Finally it one of best moments has come true and the handover did happen around 5pm last night. There are quite a few items which needs to be completed, list below. -Front Tiling porch -Grout in kitchen and laundry -Barbecue installation -Front entry door/skirting needs to be changed due to damage to door jam. -Chandelier hooked up incorrectly -Painting front wall above garage -Bull nose Wall panel in media room -2 power switches in kitchen are wrong they need to be Saturn type. -Oven not sitting flush with the opening. -Downpipe spreader -Brickwork clean up around kitchen window not completed. The SS has agreed to a timeline to get sorted in 2weeks..fingers crossed. Overall I think the build quality is great. The delay costs are approximately $3k and coral have agreed to this. And finally some pics, I will update more pics once we move in tomorrow. Love the stairs looking down to the entrance. Very nice doors too. We are getting them also except one with two side lights and that colour. Was going to get two. But because they both weren't pivot hubby didn't want them. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bahama 50 294Apr 22, 2017 9:09 pm Amazing entrance......looks sensational.
