I am thinking of asking Fairmont if we can get it done prior to completion since it's winter and I don't want our run off to affect your block and I also want to ask our SS when we get introduced about putting gravel around our boundary as it has been horrible out there just from our footing being done. We are definitely investing in a pressure cleaner!!! Re: A J B Fairmont Build 2016 24Jun 13, 2016 5:27 pm I walked through a display home that was 265 and it was huge GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: A J B Fairmont Build 2016 25Jun 13, 2016 5:36 pm Oh can I butt in on the Stormwater? We were quoted 2k to do Stormwater through our builder. We've just been out today to get what we need because we're doing it ourselves. Bunnings have a sale at the moment on Stormwater fixings and the entire job including dingo hire will be $500! The pipes only came to $270! Building a custom Sterling home in Adelaide. We are definitely investing in a pressure cleaner!!! That's good, they seem reputable our SS who will also be yours has allowed us to do our retaining and stormwater prior to handover. We had a complaint about run off from our block and SS was organising temporary stormwater until the contractor can get in there, apparently far too wet at the moment to get any work done but we are hopeful for the water to dry out soon! Pressure cleaner is on. My list too, I love those things! Re: A J B Fairmont Build 2016 27Jun 13, 2016 5:52 pm CustomStirling Oh can I butt in on the Stormwater? That's awesome, I definately think it matters that your partner has done it before so shouldn't be a problem for you Re: A J B Fairmont Build 2016 30Jun 13, 2016 6:19 pm [quote="heatherkam"][quote="A J B"] That sounds promising for us to get it done b4 handover thanks for that info appreciate it!! Our quote was $1,320 just from sending our plans and footing report page. Will be interesting to see what the quote comes to when they do it from onsite? That price you have is great!! There is no way I want to be digging trenches etc we are not handy type of people like that, possibly planting plants & painting is about my forte when it comes to outside jobs Re: A J B Fairmont Build 2016 31Jun 13, 2016 6:26 pm [quote="CustomStirling"] No problems at all, anytime! I spoke to our footings contractor to see what our soil was like and he said it was really hard to dig so we don't want to risk doing it ourselves. We are also not handy type of people who can do those things, possibly planting plants, mowing & painting is about my forte when it comes to outside jobs All the best with your stormwater! Re: A J B Fairmont Build 2016 32Jun 13, 2016 6:35 pm [quote="charlibear"] I don't think i'm going to like cleaning this house! I have already told my partner that he will need to pitch in with the cleaning since he wants tiles, I am dreading mopping the 190sqm's of the tiled area! Definitely bigger than our current home but i'm sure I will be in love with it and it will no longer be a choir Having a mainly inside dog doesn't help either! Thanks charlibear Re: A J B Fairmont Build 2016 33Jun 13, 2016 8:21 pm Oh I'm following closely AJB! We also chose wallaby for our roof and gutters. I like it because it is a grey but in some lights throws a bit of a natural green colour. I love all the natural elements and colours. - otherwise known as Kym - A J B Fairmont Build 2016 34Jun 14, 2016 4:08 pm I'm following along AJB. It's funny, I was looking at the block pictures thinking, wow that looks a lot like the location of Heathers house.... We are awaiting demo (hopefully it started today, have to check tonight) so will be about a month or so behind you guys!!! viewtopic.php?t=82566 Re: A J B Fairmont Build 2016 36Jun 14, 2016 8:29 pm [quote="needsausername"] Hi Kym, I can't wait to see how it looks, we first chose Gully but that threw Green and on another show home with a cream brick looked nothing like we had pictured from the sample. I have found Wallaby to throw the grey & a browny colour but not so much green but time will tell. After looking at so many colours exterior and interior my partner swears that I am now colourblind lol I see everything throwing yellow and green now lol I also like the natural elements it shows, it's like having two different coloured roofs at any given time! Good luck with your build I will have to check out your thread Re: A J B Fairmont Build 2016 37Jun 14, 2016 8:33 pm [quote="Wilko91"] Lol, I met Heather simply by checking out this forum, couldn't believe the pictures she put up and thinking that looks familiar, I think they will be our new next door neighbours! Awesome, hope your demo started today! Good luck with your build I look forward to seeing your progress, All the best! Re: A J B Fairmont Build 2016 38Jun 14, 2016 9:03 pm Day 8 We have a SLAB!! & a Bill Managed to race out to our block after work to see this beautiful concrete artwork completed today, even the resident Ducks were giving it their approval, not sure what the duck poo meant on our freshly laid slab but hoping it means good luck!!
