Browse Forums Building A New House Re: First Home Build - Carlisle Homes - Matisse 33 - Clyde V 61Jan 19, 2017 11:23 pm hey mate. how's it all going? haven't been on the blog for a while. Re: First Home Build - Carlisle Homes - Matisse 33 - Clyde V 62Jan 20, 2017 5:40 am Yer, have not posted much as not much has happened in the last 4 months. (blog is temporarily down until I get around to editing it) What has happened is the soundproofing was sorted out (just the big bits anyway) Cabinetry, benchtops, splash backs fitted, waterproofing done, render started and as of 2 days ago internal paint started (should be finished today). There is still a fair bit of architrave not fitted and some doors/door frames still not hung, so in my opinion its pretty stupid to finish painting till its all done. Alfresco doors have been leaning against the wall for 3 months still not fitted, and nobody can give me any eta at all as to when they will be fitted. Just blaming A&L.. Well A&L work for Carlisle so dont pass the blame, just get them fitted. the alfresco doors are holding up some of the architrave and plaster work being completed, also holding up the last of the brickwork to alfresco. without brickwork finished, the render is being held up and the alfresco ceiling cladding. the porch ceiling cladding wont be finished until he comes back to do alfresco ceiling. Considering they invoiced me for, and I have paid lock up and fixing stages last year, I don't thin it's unfair of me to be expecting those things to be completed. My new supervisor has been good though, but there is not much he can say to me that will excite me until i hear him say "mate, alfresco doors are fitted" how's things going with you? It's a woodgrain plank style tile, and i feel it needs to be long and skinny (like a wooden plank), the new shape is 600x300 and just does not give the effect I am after. I'm sure Carlisle are giving A&L much more of a hard time than I'm giving Carlisle. PCI was pencilled in for December 21 so Id hope carlisle want it finished now just as bad as i do. Carlisle should consider ditching A&L altogether! Henley has since moved onto Stegbar for all their window supplies. My company also had massive issues with A&L and too think they are supplying all the windows for 160+ apartments! Second Build, this time with Carlisle 2016, can't wait! It's now booked for Mach 2nd with possible handover the following week... All the best for March 2nd! I truely hope they pull their s%hit together after all your issues... on a bright note you kitchen bench is gorgeous! Second Build, this time with Carlisle 2016, can't wait! Could not agree more about A&L. I actually asked today about the flyscreens. thank goodness they are going through Bulleen Screens for those... Yer bit disappointed about yesterday. I met SS on site a week earlier and he booked the pci then. but one week later and the only thing that got done was laminate flooring. This was a house thats meant to be getting ready for pci in one week. unacceptable in my book. but anyway, just yesterday alone there was 3x more work done than the previous 7 days. Carpet, paint and staining all done. Carpet, paint and staining all done. We had the exact same thing happen, it seems they like to book in trades to finish the works in 1 day instead of doing the works before hand. One day before our PCI and everything that "seemed" broken was fixed and the site was level and cleared and the internals were actually cleaned! Amazing but it was so rushed that our first PCI was disappointing. Our second PCI the house looked so much better (the way first PCI should have looked)!! I can imagine that you have paid close attention to every single detail for the journey of building your dream house. One great upgrade that attract me the most is extending your theatre room (lounge room) for another 0.5 meter into the living room. Is it possible to do that for Matisse 32sq and how much did it cost you to do that? And another question is did you choose to keep the door to WIP or remove it to have an open kitchen which look more spacious? And why did you choose to have a one big front entry door rather than 2 flush panel entry door? Thanks So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27721 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37143 Carlisle use to sneak a water resistant "Performance Solution" into their contracts. Have you checked your contract for same? 4 10237 |
