That is a huge electricity box...what you running in your house? Hehe. The box is for all of the stage of our estate. Is such a monstrosity, but we got such a great discount on our block, and got a much bigger block for having it in there. It has meant we can have our dream house and a pool. Have seen others in the estate. And with screening around, they are not as noticeable. In fact am on verge of tears for the first time this build, and I guess that's not too bad considering some of the delays and stuff ups I have had. So for us to have had any chance of getting in next Fri. For which I have booked removalist for, our driveway really needed to be formed up today. Went passed an hour ago, and nothing has been done since yesterday. Tried ringing ss and haven't heard back. So frustrating being so close but so far. Looks like I am going to have to reschedule valuer, removalist and probably even time off too. 😢😞😪 Re: Coral Daydream 32 905Feb 03, 2017 4:21 pm Becs Coral So feeling pretty deflated. Hopefully the concreter shows up first thing tomorrow morning to firm up. I bet you feel like you're never getting in with the hold ups lately. Chin up. My Homeone Thread - Re: Coral Daydream 32 906Feb 04, 2017 5:47 am Just reading through the previous post before this last update Bec, which I did see but thought I already responded. Would you believe that I`ve walked and driven past your place a billion times and never even looked at or noticed that electricity box. I`ve always been too distracted looking at what`s new at your place lol. I haven't even noticed them in the estate to be honest lol. I guess when you`re not really looking for something that it doesn`t stand out? I bet I`ll see them everywhere now that I am aware. I think that the electricity box is very similar to the tanks, no one wants them because they are an eyesore but we have to have them. I think screening the box is a good idea Bec. We are going to screen off our alfresco (in the future) so that it blocks the view of our hideous big fat tank! When there was no house it was such an eyesore, but as soon as we started building I really didn't notice it either. Hoping when the portaloo is moved from right out the front of the house it will become slightly less obvious again. Re: Coral Daydream 32 908Feb 06, 2017 6:43 pm Driveway and some path was formed today. Our whole timeline depends on it being poured tomorrow morning so our valuer do his bit tomorrow afternoon to allow for payment QUICKLY to move on Friday. I have been trying to call ss all day to find out what is happening, only to get a msg late this afternoon, saying he isn't working today and he will call tomorrow. Have also tried ringing concreter to see if he can tell me, and also to organise the additional payment. But he hasn't called back either. B R O N T E. 43 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=79581 I have been dealing with a broker through Westpac. They have already been around a couple of weeks ago when the invoice was first sent out to do the valuation. They rang to say they couldn't completely it because the driveway wasn't done. When I spoke to the broker today I did ask whether they could do it based just on the form work and she seemed to think that they probably couldn't, but she would mention that that was done and check anyway. No definitely won`t be getting poured today with the rain either. Lets hope they get it poured on Thursday. Why can`t building a home just be straight forward, like they have done it enough times to get it right surely. I think the most frustrating part is the lack of communication. It`s like they don`t understand or care that you have to arrange and book things in to move house. On the upside, once the concrete is poured it will look amazing, the bits that you`ve added around the side and back were an excellent choice! I wish we done more concrete around the side. Might revisit that in the future. My Homeone Thread - Re: Coral Daydream 32 919Feb 08, 2017 10:04 am DreamHome2point0 Oh Bec, so sorry to hear about the stuff around with your driveway. I broke down on the phone to him telling him how frustrated I am. He Said the issue is they have nothing to hold over the concreter as he us really just doing this as a favour and has no commitment to Coral. He is pretty frustrated too. The issue is we have pleanty of work extra we wanted him to do after too, but without communication with us, he will have almost certainly lost that opportunity, even though I know his work is good. Has been a really crappy morning! Everything that could go wrong, pretty much has. Don't want to book in the valuation until I know for certain it will be done. Trying to rebook removalist for an unknown date. Have had 3 people telling me how bad I look this morning and I break down in tears each time. The stress is taking its toll. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14669 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4679 |
