We have paid for travertine tiles. Builder sent letter saying we would get tile meeting. In preselections we were told to discuss tile orientation at tile meeting. Builder did not send construction updates as promised. When I asked when my tile meeting would occur they said tiles are finished. Travertine grain has been laid vertically and we want it horizontally.
Initially we were told verbally they would fix the walls in bathrooms.
Then the renegged when we asked them to put it in writing. They then got their lawyer to attend site and he is satisfied that tiles have been laid as per contract.
Then builder told me in writing that tiles wouldn't be discussed until pci. I am interstate and they said I must attend pci to talk about tiles. I flew in and construction manger didn't show up and instead the site supervisor said we aren't having any tiles changed.
I drove to builder and waited to speak with construction manager. He then agreed to change tiles on walls in one bathroom only.
Now he says tiles aren't available so I suggested doing work after hsndover when tiles are in stock. He said no and and has offered us $3k as a "goodwill" gesture. That will only cover fixing half of the walls of 1 bathroom.
What should I do?
