Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 25, 2016 8:49 pm I have decided on the project home that I want to build and have now found the block of land I want to buy. The home builder has told me that the slope of the land where the slab sits must be no more than 1.5m. The land that I want to buy has a forward fall of what seems to be 2m across the length of where the slab will sit. Is a max of 1.5m usual with homes on slabs? Can I expect the project home builder to be a little flexible? Re: Land Slope 2May 25, 2016 9:38 pm In my limited experience I would think it is just that land with a higher slope will lead to either higher siteworks or a requirement to have a split level home, which will increase your costs (and I assume some builders/designs can't be made to have a split level... But thats another guess). Re: Land Slope 4May 29, 2016 11:25 am In a lot of cases the siteworks will go up as per what im says above and they will simply cut and fill to suit. Be prepared for some substantial engineering costs as a result eg large drop edge beams to slabs, retaining walls or piers etc Stewie Need advice on the backyard plan above.
