Do you know what this means and whether its needed? Re: Building Mainvue Aegean430 - 45sq in Berwick Waters 203Jan 26, 2018 10:53 pm thinkpanther One more question: We have also asked for an increase in the height of the ceiling in our Ivory 32 and Henley have added the following note - "Excludes increased widow head height". Do you know what this means and whether its needed? Hmmm, not sure. Perhaps it means that the window heights are remaining the same, if you want them increased also, you have to request this separately? Our Henley Aegean45 Re: Building Mainvue Aegean430 - 45sq in Berwick Waters 204Jan 26, 2018 10:56 pm yeah...that's what I assumed as well. Thanks for your reply. Building Mainvue Aegean430 - 45sq in Berwick Waters 205Feb 09, 2018 9:38 am Ok, so stairs have been installed and most of the interior doors were hung yesterday. We are officially locked out so don’t have any pics of the doors yet. We also put a deposit down on the swimspa last week, we chose the ‘Hornet’ from endless and it will be inground and paved around. SS has advised that the kitchen will be going in next and I have an appointment to meet the tiler onsite next Tuesday to go through the detailed tiling we have specified. Waterproofing and fixing inspection will also happen on Tuesday. I'm currently in the process of getting a quote for the Aegean 45 and I have the same land length size as you. I know the floor plan is quite long so I was wondering whether you could post a photo of how much backyard you have left? I have a huge family and would love to entertain so a good size backyard is a must. I'm not too sure what the setback is in your area but for me I will need a set back of at least 4m from the front of the land to the house. Looking forward to seeing more photos of your build! Keep us posted Hi Firstabode, The backyard is very small, only 4.2m and will probably just be decorative. We have more room to the side, 6.1m and that will be our ‘play space’ and we will be putting a swimspa there. The entertainment area will be under the Alfresco. While I extended it, I wish I have of made it 1m longer to match the garage. It’s 2m off the side fence which is basically wasted space. Our front setback is also 4m. I don’t have any pics of the backyard, which is a total mess anyway but here is the plan, hopefully it will help. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Some cabinetry has been installed. Was liking the posts thinking this is exactly the same as the Aegean 45 being built in Berwick Waters. Haha, yes, the name change threw a few people. What’s your insta name? The landing is awesome, it’s so wide, as are the stairs, really spacious. I’m hoping to do a wall of sheers here and maybe even a plant, there’s enough room. Our Henley Aegean45 Re: Building Mainvue Aegean430 - 45sq in Berwick Waters 211Feb 10, 2018 1:21 pm I thought you would have guessed our Insta name by now it’s Our_Aegean230. We very nearly built with Carlisle because of their open stairs. Most Henley standard homes have narrow and tight stairs but the Aegean and Cullen stairs really stand out. You’ll have plenty of space to put a plant there and it’ll get heaps of light from the big window. It's great that you have so much space on the side to make up for the lack of backyard at the rear of the house. Unfortunately I don't have that same space so 4.2m will have to do! I absolutely adore the picture windows at the display in the living areas, are you able to give me the price for them? I'd imagine they'd be quite a big upgrade. I didn’t add the picture windows, while I love the look, I wanted openable windows for ventilation and when I did my quote back in 2016, they were over $2k each. Our Henley Aegean45 Re: Building Mainvue Aegean430 - 45sq in Berwick Waters 214Feb 10, 2018 5:01 pm Your house is looking stunning. Love the stairs. We went with a similar style and it looks better than I imagined. Your laundry also looks packed full of cabinets which will likely be quite useful. Re: Building Mainvue Aegean430 - 45sq in Berwick Waters 215Feb 10, 2018 5:09 pm Oh wow, now I have to really re-evaluate that desire haha. So because I made a deposit in January, I was able to lock in the old price before the recent price increase in Feb. The difference is only $5k and now they are including double glazed windows to the entire house with the new price. I asked my sales consultant how much double glazing would be to the entire house as an upgrade if I stuck to the old price and she quoted around $8k... I'm not entirely convinced that is true. Did you upgrade to double glazing to all your windows? Did you upgrade to double glazing to all your windows? Double glazing was included in the promotion I received, along with upgrade to 6 star heating and 48 downlights. I had changed to this in September 2016 from a previous promotion in May, which worked out cheaper despite the higher base price and also saved me from paying the price matrix. I did have the quote for double glazing prior to this and it was around $2k - it’s gone up a lot! Thank you SAFA1, the overhead cabinetry in the laundry was a last minute addition, as was the bulkhead so we wouldn’t have the dust collecting issue on them. Hopefully they can fix it without too much problem/damage. I also added another divider underneath, so there’s 3 spaces, one for washer, dryer and a bar sized freezer. Can’t wait to see the stone installed. Our Henley Aegean45 Re: Building Mainvue Aegean430 - 45sq in Berwick Waters 218Feb 10, 2018 8:42 pm Wow! That’s a massive difference. I’m convinced that she’s over quoted me and I’ll get her to look into it properly. She only gave me that figure from the top of her head. I don’t know what I’d do without this forum! It’s already helped me so much to make smarter decisions. I can’t wait to see your build progress even further! I’m excited for you Re: Building Mainvue Aegean430 - 45sq in Berwick Waters 219Feb 13, 2018 7:08 pm Day 147... Met the tiler on site today to go through the tile placement and confirming what goes where. Hopefully he starts sometime this week. Unfortunately some of our electrical cable has been cut out and stolen prior to plaster going in but it wasn’t picked up till yesterday, therefore now we have to wait for the kitchen to go in until they’ve worked out what’s missing and have it repaired. Hoping the patch job they do with junction boxes doesn’t cause any issues down the track. On a positive note, front door and matching theatre doors have been hung. Will look better once they’ve been stained and the black oblong handles installed.
