There timber on the facade just below the roof and timber around 3 narrow windows around the front door. We've asked them to do extra coats of strain in the hope it'll match the black aluminium. Here's our colour selections. We didn't discuss the style of aluminium windows either Don't sweat that you didn't get to discuss everything at colour, you will continue to make updates as you go through the Admin process. Remember that you can make as many changes as you like at no cost before contracts are signed (and I'm pretty sure until you're handed over to construction). You can head back to Cosham on a Saturday to look over more things, and then just let your Admin know what changes you want to make. I would highly recommended evaluating your choices from top to bottom after maybe looking around at houses with similar choices, to see if you like the finished result. And don't be afraid to make drastic changes to your choices. And I'm not suggesting that you need to, just to remember that you can do this as sometimes you can feel like you're locked into the choices you made on that 1 colour appointment. We pretty much changed all of our colour choices 3 months after our colour appointment. We changed our bricks, deleted all our render from the facade, changed our tiles, our splash back, our roof, fascia, gutters and downpipe colours, and then made several changes inside the house as well. I'm sure our Admin was sick of getting changes by email from me in the end, but you're paying a lot of money for this house, so you want it to be right for you. Don't settle for something if you don't love it. I would also recommend looking at the thread titled "Things you forget". They've summarised most of the things people have mentioned on one of the pages. viewtopic.php?t=5823 Congrats on getting past the first hurdle! Next comes the Tender Re: Building with MainVue at Woodlea - Amalfi 632 23Jul 08, 2016 7:33 am Aww thanks we were told they don't like to make changes and would charge us $150 everytime we changed something especially if it was drastic. But it's nice to know other people are doing their heads in, not just us Re: Building with MainVue at Woodlea - Amalfi 632 24Jul 08, 2016 7:35 am strawbola Aww thanks we were told they don't like to make changes and would charge us $150 everytime we changed something especially if it was drastic. But it's nice to know other people are doing their heads in, not just us Well I know that after you sign contracts, it costs $500 just to make a change. That's before whatever it costs to make the change. But before contracts are signed, you can make as many changes as you want, and don't be scared to take advantage of that. We had Heidi and thought she was great. But yes we signed a piece of paper saying $150 for changes. She did say they would make minor changes for free cause I was thinking well I'm not signing this until I'm sure then. But she said they want to deter people from making too many changes, and on their own as they often lose the flow in their home. Re: Building with MainVue at Woodlea - Amalfi 632 27Aug 28, 2016 12:40 pm So after our quote went up about $25k after tender we decided we would get the floors done by soomeone else. We ended up spending only a little bit less lol... but the quality we think is much better. Here are out new flooring choices. Re: Building with MainVue at Woodlea - Amalfi 632 28Aug 29, 2016 7:46 pm Yeah those tender appointments are a real eye opener, aren't they?! You've gotta save money where you can, so even though doing the floors after handover is a pain, you can put that money saving elsewhere. How long until your contract appointment? Re: Building with MainVue at Woodlea - Amalfi 632 31Oct 25, 2016 9:15 pm Hi Guys, Love the info, we building the same house in Woodlea as well, stage 13. Would love to see some more pictures of how your place turned out. Are you guys done already? Also quick question, how much extra was the increase in ceiling height ? Emre & Kelly Re: Building with MainVue at Woodlea - Amalfi 632 32Apr 21, 2017 11:50 pm Any update on the build? So glad I stumbled on your thread My partner and are will be building in Woodlea also, although our land title isn't until Jan 19! We are also looking at doing the Amalfi, the 25 though as our block isn't long enough for the 4 bedroom versions I am excited to see how you progress! Good luck! Re: Building with MainVue at Woodlea - Amalfi 632 34Jul 24, 2018 5:17 pm Hi there! Excited to bump into your blog as we are also awaiting titling of our land in Woodlea in Oct this year and we are currently in the process of finalising our plan and builder. We've been having a strong inclination to buiding the Amalfi 32 with some customisation to suit our needs. It's just so much of a reassurance to see posts of others building the same plan. Thank you and hope your build journey was smooth. Do post pics of your house, if possible. Would love to have a look. Cheers. Re: Building with MainVue at Woodlea - Amalfi 632 35Jul 09, 2019 4:46 pm Hmmm. Been a little while since positing. No we are not done. We just had the site cut done and fences put up. I must say the Henley Reserve sign does feel a little fancy We were delayed a few years because our land and build was undervalued by ANZ bank and needed to save $60k to make up the difference. We've refinanced with RAMS now and are excited to finally see progress, especially having to spend $2k to clear our land of rubbish and boulders that had been dumped there, including by one of our neighbours! Will post some updates and photos here as there doesn't seem to be too many Amalfi threads live at the moment. We hired an independent inspector from Darbecca. They found about 9 issues which were all rectified at the pre-pour inspection. The rest of the build will fly for you! Thanks! Yep its flying. Lucky we live very close so we've been visiting every few days. So good to see the progress.
