Ive already started emailing breeders for when their next litters are due Avoca 25 in Gainsborough Greens Gold Coast viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81406 Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 42May 28, 2016 9:10 pm I'm a fan of GSD too, but I love collies. My aunty had one when I was really little and when we were looking for a dog about 7 years ago Holly came up for sale and I was instantly in love. She's my baby haha. I think she is keen for the new house, she's going to love a bigger backyard. We've taken her out to the block a few times and she loves it out there. Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 44May 28, 2016 10:49 pm I can't wait to move to the new house we are getting a puppy, we had a corgi x maltese and she was my life throughout high school lost her about 6 years ago. Renting ever since and not suitable for dogs so a corgi pup is high on the list. Also want to concur with the choice for light carpet and darker wood will look amazing. Can't wait to see it come together. Are you guys now in council? Soon hopefully, we should have our contracts sometime next week. Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 46May 29, 2016 9:19 am Hope your quick in council I know stage 1 took forever but I believe that council are much quicker now. They got through council in under 2 weeks so that's a good sign. Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 48May 29, 2016 10:25 am Thats heaps better then the original 6-8 weeks, but i think Williams are all over the guidelines so it is very helpful. We found the council fantastic to deal with and he highly recommend Williams saying there council submissions were nearly always perfect and built a great quality house. So hopefully yours will be the same! _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 50May 29, 2016 8:02 pm Yeah I hope so. They have built so many in the area that I think they know the rules inside out by now. They have said it could take 6 weeks but I think that is just so they are covered if it does take longer. Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 51May 30, 2016 12:59 pm Some of the quotes for our upgrades came back. Not what I was expecting! There are a couple things that I think we will skip but boy does it add up quick. The caesarstone was less than I expected (but I'm not sure the waterfall edge is worth it) and the mirror splash back was slightly more than I thought so they sort of even each other out. The most surprising was to upgrade the kitchen cabinets from melamine to polyurethane handless doors with soft close hinges ($3961.50!). We were planning on putting a second ceiling hung shower head into the shower in the ensuite, as much as I want it I'm not sure that $581.60 is worth it. I don't know! Advice anyone? Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 52May 30, 2016 1:20 pm We had the same thing with our builder, some things come back way cheaper then we thought although others were way more!! If its anything to compare to our waterfall ends were about $1500 for 20mm - i still think we were ripped but i wanted it lol We forgot all about asking for slow close runners - our colour consultant did not up sell anything!! But Ive seen them at bunnings for $30 a draw so will get hubby to upgrade them after we move in.. not ideal but wil be much cheaper. $580 for showerhead ouch!! _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 53May 30, 2016 1:23 pm Not a huge help but our original sales consultant said upgrade now what you cant change later.. It really stuck with me - I wish we upgraded our cornices but too late. _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 54May 30, 2016 2:12 pm Ryalls_first_build We had the same thing with our builder, some things come back way cheaper then we thought although others were way more!! Our quote for waterfall was about $1500 too. I'm not not sure I want them that much. Plus when we went to have a look at carpet the other day the guy said you have to get the floor in before the waterfall because otherwise they have to cut the floors to fit and it doesn't look as seamless. I'm just thinking they're going to be more hassle then it's worth. I might look into those runners at Bunnings, I wonder how much that would save us. Yeah the second shower head is a tough one. The $580 is for the extra head and tap and the plumbing that goes with it, so I can see why it's so expensive. But in the other hand it is something I really want and would probably cost a lot more to get installed later. It's one of those things that we have been talking about having for so long. Ryalls_first_build Not a huge help but our original sales consultant said upgrade now what you cant change later.. It really stuck with me - I wish we upgraded our cornices but too late. That's some really good advice. I'll have to remember that and have a good hard think. Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 55May 30, 2016 2:14 pm You should ditch the waterfalls and get the extra shower head. . That would be almost impossible to do later ☺ _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 56May 30, 2016 2:24 pm Yeah it would. There are a few other things we are waiting to hear back on, so I guess we will wait until we have everything and then decide. Did you have to get approval or anything before you cleared our block? Dave from Prestige should be coming out next week to do ours. Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 57May 30, 2016 2:37 pm Is that the guy i recommend? ? If it is i should be getting commission the amount of people ive referred to him lol We waited to get approval but looking back i wouldn't have worried - no one checked it or even cared. I called the council and certifier to make sure it was ok and neither were interested _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 58May 30, 2016 2:46 pm Handleless doors/drawers were a big cost for us too but it was one thing I didn't want to compromise on. Waterfall ends you could always do later if you really want them. We were lucky one was included in our promo and we only needed one! We are paying extra though to have the kitchen guys come back after we do the flooring so they can do all the kick boards and waterfall end. I didn't want any scotia/beading so that was my only option. Soft close can be added later easily. I would do the shower head, that's not something easily done later on. http://bellaviabuild.wordpress.com Re: Building in Appletree Grove NSW with Williams Designer H 59May 30, 2016 3:05 pm Ryalls, yeah that's the same guy that you suggested. We tried calling another company and they just never got back to us. $1200 for 7 trees and can be done early next week, I'm just gonna do it. Council probably won't even notice. KLB, I think the cabinets are worth the extra, just wasn't expecting almost $4k extra. I most just want them for the handle less feature which I don't know if that can be done with melamine anyway. Even if it could be done it probably would still cost a bit. I think I'm going to go for the shower head, it will just be so lovely!
