Shame about your windows not being sealed correctly, hopefully they can rectify it quickly for you. Your interior selections look absolutely stunning <3 I was wondering if you would be able to share your exterior render colour names? My partner and I have chosen a black garage door also and the light colorbond roofing also but we are struggling with render colours to match and the ones you have chosen were in the direction we were thinking of heading Re: B & D's First build with HGWA 287Jun 22, 2017 3:57 pm dee13 PCI done a few issues, but nothing major... Thank goodness it has rained a lot overnight, as a lot of our windows weren't sealed correctly & the walls were soaked Follow our HGWA build in Baldivis @ http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.p ... 4#p1604334 great news your PCI is over, hopefully not too much water got in. House is looking good when are you hoping to move in? We had concrete scheduled for today but the rain ☔️ has put it back so annoying as we both had this week off work to sort stuff. My poor Ted is fed up of going for a walk Re: B & D's First build with HGWA 288Jun 22, 2017 4:15 pm Hally72 dee13 PCI done a few issues, but nothing major... My poor Ted is fed up of going for a walk Oh no! There's nothing more annoying than setbacks when you've taken time off from work, at least you will have had time to unpack properly and get settled The settlement on our house is on the 24th July, so we will be moving in the weekend of the 20-23rd? I told HG today that we need keys by the 4th of July at the latest. Just trying to get tilers atm (everyone is either booked out or ridiculously overpriced) & then the painter and concreters in to finish it off before we move in. Who are you guys using to do your concrete? Who are you guys using to do your concrete? You should get your keys easily by the 4th July, we got ours 7 days after PCI I just took a cheque for final payment with me it was quicker than waiting for bank to transfer. We having liquid limestone using a company that specialise just in that, your having exposed aren't you ? ( distinctive limestone) The company we picked said they normally need two weeks notice when I booked it they was very busy typical. Fingers crossed it be done Monday. Have you had quotes for side fencing we used JC contemporary fencing he has a FB page highly recommend him he lives two roads away. We had arranged for gardener to start at back this weekend too so had to put him off. We have homegroup paint our house inside, are you doing this after handover Re: B & D's First build with HGWA 291Jun 22, 2017 5:45 pm SilentBoB Looks good Dee! Shame about the windows not being sealed properly but better to pick it up now rather than after you've moved in! Thanks Bob! Yep that's what I thought, i'm really glad it happened before we had painted Follow our HGWA build in Baldivis @ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83352&f=31&p=1604334#p1604334 Re: B & D's First build with HGWA 292Jun 22, 2017 6:04 pm Fingers crossed Hally72 I had a pretty decent list of things for them to fix...The supervisor kept saying how ''thorough I was being'' haha. I don't care if I'm annoying, it's cost us a lot of money, so they can hand it over in proper condition. It was more just little things, but annoying ones all the same. The oven wasn't sitting flush, scratches on all of the window fittings, scratches on some of the glass or cupboards not shutting as smoothly as they should. I had an independent inspector with me as well and he picked up a few things I wouldn't have noticed or even thought to look at. So it was great to have someone who knew what to look for, he was awesome. We're having it painted by Vibrant Visions, they do a 4 coat system for cheaper than what HG was going to charge, I just have to figure out what colour to use We're having exposed driveways & paths and a honed alfresco... choosing a colour is so hard though (they all look nothing like the samples!) I have a friend that's a concreter that will be doing it. I love the liquid limestone too though, it will look gorgeous with your colours Thanks for the fencing recommendation! I was just getting quotes atm, so i'll definitely give him a call... are you guys enjoying your new home so far? We was the same wanted it perfect, choosing a colour for inside isn't easy took us a while. Brad will soon get the stuff done as they will want paying eofy next week Steve wanted exposed and I wanted pavers for back so we meet in middle concrete that looks like pavers Wished we had the front done now too but that's the only regret we got as happy with everything else. Kids are happy too which is good as not always easy to please teenagers Re: B & D's First build with HGWA 294Jun 22, 2017 10:03 pm Haha good thinking! Everybody wins at least you got pavers at the front so if you ever wanted to change it, it's easy who did you guys end up picking for your lawn? Follow our HGWA build in Baldivis @ http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.p ... 4#p1604334 We are using our sons friend his a landscaper, we are going to purchase lawn ourselves and his laying it for us. Much cheaper this way I had quotes between $50 to $65 a sqm. One company quoted me $8000 for front and back ( we haven't got much at back as mostly concrete) Re: B & D's First build with HGWA 296Jun 22, 2017 10:26 pm Woah that's ridiculous! I honestly wondered lately how some tradies get any business when they over quote like that. I'm getting some quotes from floor tilers that average around 6-7 grand... And then some quote over 10? I get there would be a bit of a difference but some are just a joke Follow our HGWA build in Baldivis @ http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.p ... 4#p1604334 Follow our HGWA build in Baldivis @ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83352&f=31&p=1604334#p1604334 Re: B & D's First build with HGWA 297Jun 22, 2017 10:34 pm dee13 Woah that's ridiculous! Hope they fix everything properly bummer about your windows but great that you noticed now! Yea I'm so glad it was now not later There were so many things the inspector picked up that I didn't see!
