Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 801Jun 27, 2017 11:37 am Hi Kat, we had a similar situation to you, see below, our neighbour's builder did a site cut that left them below us ranging from 40-100cm. Our fencers was going to split the costs between both parties but then I ask people from work (lucky i work for building company) and was advised as they had disturbed the ground levels they should bear the full cost for the retainer wall. We went back and forth with their Builders and lawyers since January 2017 and the retainer after making lots of noise on social media and harassing a bunch of people was installed Mid April. I'd say keep pushing as they do end up costing few grand.. we were quoted around $4-4.5K so a share of 2K minimum that wasn't originally in budget! Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 803Jul 02, 2017 7:35 pm Newport 275+ Hi Kat, would you mind sharing your driveway contractors contact details with me please? Hey! The concreter was an absolute idiot... never showed up when he was supposed to and has left it so our porch gets a puddle when it rains so definitely wouldn't recommend! Not sure how we fix it now! Hoping all this rain predicted gives us a good idea of if it'll be a real issue or just annoying! The colour was from Vic mix and was meridian delta 82 in ivory! Looks beautiful but could not wait to see the back of the concreter! Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 804Jul 02, 2017 7:51 pm Sorry to hear that Kat, I'll keeping looking & hope you'll get it fixed asap. Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 805Jul 13, 2017 8:37 pm Hi Kat & others following this thread Sorry if this question has been asked but don't fancy reading back 41 pages. We are just deciding about our heating, Was going to upgrade to the 6 star ducted heating system zoned with day/night 2 zones In lieu of the Brivis 3 star manual system Any thoughts from anyone? We are just deciding about our heating, Was going to upgrade to the 6 star ducted heating system zoned with day/night 2 zones In lieu of the Brivis 3 star manual system Any thoughts from anyone? We got refrigerated air con which included the uograde. Probably the biggest benefit is the zones. Would be handy to have more but upstairs we heat at night and downstairs is turned right down to save heating bills. Will see how we go in summer haha Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 807Jul 13, 2017 11:37 pm Kat_1025 wedge117 Hi Kat & others following this thread Sorry if this question has been asked but don't fancy reading back 41 pages. Ours is refrigerated and is built into the same ducts etc. Just an FYI with the 2 zones... you can't have one off and the other on.. 😣 we turn the bottom floor down to min temp when we're upstairs. I think the 2 split systems would work quite well. That was our plan if the dusted air conditioning came in too expensive but Fairhaven was reasonable on price Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 814Sep 01, 2017 9:02 pm Me either I just hope it looks as good as yours!! Still drives me crazy that my front wasn't flat like it was suppose to be!! Would have made paving so much easier. I just love your front, so neat and green. Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 815Sep 05, 2017 10:43 pm Wooowww Kat your home looks awesome. Its such a good feeling pulling up to your driveway and seeing a completed frontyard Sounds like the timeframe we have for our backyard. Our weathers not playing nice so hopefully our landscaper will start retaining our back Saturday 🤞🤞🤞 We managed to start staining outside so little progress. Hubby's been slack so he finally took some drone shots of our back Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also our feature tree has some signs of life lol Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I can't wait to see your landscape ideas in the back. You can give me some inspiration Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 816Sep 23, 2017 7:46 pm Thanks emmz! I absolutely love your front yard. It looks fantastic. I've been a little quiet lately working like a crazy person but thanks to 2 days of good weather in Melbourne managed to barrow (yep that's right barrow) in 10 cubic metres of soil. Will need to finish of some weeding and bring in probably an extra 3 metres of quality top soil before we can lay the grass but goal is to have grass down next weekend.. wish me luck haha Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Fairhaven Homes Newport 361 in Sth East Melbourne 818Sep 23, 2017 8:30 pm aloenyx Wow!!
