Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 13, 2016 10:54 pm Hi, Has anyone recently applied for minimum from setback through Monash council? We are building through PD and need a setback of 4.5-5.5 metres, 5.5 being the maximum we can go to. We are on an irregular size block which we have put in our argument for the minimum setback. The house to the right of us has a setback of 4.0 metres and the house on the left is at 7.7 metres. Any comments/stories would be amazing! Re: Minimum front setback 2May 14, 2016 8:40 am Download from Monash council website "adjoining comments form" and get both your neighbours to sign the form and agree to the proposed setback. They also have to initial the plans Then lodge dispensation with council. Make sure your arguments refer to the ministers guidelines which should also be available on their website. Also heaps and to list other reduced setback in the immediate area ( 5 houses either side and across the road) Should be approved if there are other homes @4m.
