Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 1122Jun 11, 2017 1:25 pm JayaJaya How wonderful! Is it like you thought? All came together beautifully, I'm sure. Yaaay for you! Thank you. Two weeks in and we're really loving living here. The house is slowly coming together but I'm wishing I had your giant pantry because we certainly need it! That's the one thing I would change. Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 1123Jun 11, 2017 4:12 pm Hahaha... the giant pantry... I can't wait! What size is yours? My friends call their pantry 'the spice rack'. I'm inclined to call my current one that, and it's three times the size of theirs. It was the one thing I really did refuse to compromise on. I have so many packets of things I don't know I have, because I can't see them, and stuff is just stacked on top. I cook a lot because I have to, not want to, and I was determined to make that experience as pleasant and easy as possible for myself. And now I have a home for the kombucha and kefir and appliances, without cluttering up my benches. Can't wait for the big island either. Glad that it's working out well for you, despite pantry sizing, and I hope you'll be so happy there! I've told hubby that we will be getting some more units in there, he's not happy We do have our appliances in there so I suppose that's at least something. We've just been for a nice walk in the sun, getting to know the place. Lots of friendly people about so that's a bonus Building with Simonds in Adelaide 1125Jun 22, 2017 12:18 pm Hi everyone,
We've been busy settling in, unpacking and getting to know our new home & surroundings. We still love our home, although I'm asking myself why I chose white tiles on the ensuite floor!! They show every watermark, hair, dust etc, so glad it's only in one and not the main bathroom. Our spotlight curtains arrived. Beautiful but the blockout wasn't don't correctly and left us with around an inch extra fabric at the bottom! They are being remade, unfortunately another 3-4 week wait! This is the top, sheer, I love it's beautiful floaty look Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Spotlight will come back to fit new blockout and correct the rails. We've been slogging it in the garden, it had some really uneven parts so we've been leveling it with our neighbors excess soil, we're now adding some decent soil on the top so that turf can go down. We're also having another paved area done on Friday. Here's our work so far, I have the blisters to prove it! We spent the whole of Saturday moving soil and made a huge dent in the pile, now we've got another two days to shift the new pile Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 1130Jun 23, 2017 10:27 am Good size yard you might need a bigger wheelbarrow love the pink tho Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 1131Jun 29, 2017 8:40 pm I adore your furry supervisor there... it's so funny when they think they are 'helping' by doing the inspecting as you go along. Don't you wish they had hands so you could give 'em a shovel? Lol... so cute. He may not be able to help with the shoveling but he's doing great with chasing away the pesky pigeons that have taken a shine to our place Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 1134Jul 12, 2017 2:59 pm JayaJaya Any updates on your yard, Marshall? Not really, just been to Munns to get quote for the turf, will probably get it next week or the week after, it's school hols at the mo' so we're busy keeping the sprogs entertained Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 1135Jul 12, 2017 3:39 pm What sort of turf did they recommend? Follow our build with Express Two Storey (Ventura Group): http://tinyurl.com/jlykgph Thank you. We paid $4k for the plantation shutters and the block out curtains with the sheers over the top for the 6 slider. This price was with a discount, it was either 20 or 30% off, I didn't think it was too bad and I'm glad to say that both are of an excellent quality Building a new home, and looking for a garage builder (home builder not contracted to do this).
