(Excuse my lack of this knowledge) if so, what happens in our case where the neighbor has built their home on the boundary? Would their pipes get put down on our land? Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 985May 01, 2017 11:18 pm The most common configurations is one down each side, leading to the lowpoint which is where the stormwater outlet is in the gutter. Depends where the downpipes are. The architect would (should) have taken this into consideration when specifying the downpipe locations and the setout of the house on the block Often, when they have built on the boundary, they dont have a gutter overhanging your side, and the gutter is sort of inset into the roofline a little bit (i forget but it has a name - parapet gutter?) but will have a downpipe at the front of that wall, and then the remainder of it will drain over to the other side and around. They aren't going to put any stormwater on your side Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 987May 02, 2017 12:14 am It should be shown on one of your plans Marshall!! Dying to see them if you are as we are considering them also. Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 989May 02, 2017 7:56 am RegVic It should be shown on one of your plans Marshall!! I have built to the boundary on one side and the pipe goes under the garage.... You could be right Reg, our neighbor did tell us that their builder is doing their stormwater but they gave us the impression that it's not been done yet.. I will look back through our documents to see as I don't fancy our paving needing to come up once it's down Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 990May 02, 2017 7:59 am 1st time builders You still using the oak Montana trendtime 6 boards? Hi, Yes we're still having the oak Montana boards, it's booked in to be done on the 15th or 16th I believe, it may have to be postponed if Simonds don't get a move on, I can't wait to see it down too. Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 991May 02, 2017 8:00 am Cool. Excited to see them. We had the oak castel last build and it was lovely. Want something different this time. I have just never seen anyone use them but they seem like such a nice colour. What colour cabinets have you got in your bathrooms? I have just never seen anyone use them but they seem like such a nice colour. What colour cabinets have you got in your bathrooms? We liked the oak castel too. When we chose our flooring, I searched and searched for, 'real' pics but couldn't find any so I am a little bit anxious of how they will look overall. The en suite has Laminex, espresso ligna, the main bathroom has Formica, Cuban wood. Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 993May 02, 2017 9:32 am Hi Marshall, It is hard when we don't know what/where to look at (I had that moment a 100 times during my build) The dotted lines around the house is the storm water pipe connecting to the legal point of discharge.. The small solid line connecting the dotted lines to the house are the downpipes... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hope this helps!!! Re: Building with Simonds in Adelaide 995May 03, 2017 10:53 am Garage door is booked in for tomorrow pci is supposed to be Friday but can't see it happening Building with Simonds in Adelaide 998May 06, 2017 9:13 am So it turns out that lots of painting needs to be done, it would be good if they just give us an extra layer all over because I hate unevenness.. anyway, because of this, pci will now be around the 15th and for the sake of our stress level, I hope to God that it happens!! We can't extend our rental anymore Garage door is going on today as the guy was off sick before. I noticed that our front window has a lot of scratches on it, to the point that the colour has come off. Hubby thinks I'm being picky.. I don't, I think it should be perfect. Do they just paint it to correct this? He's like that'll be getting fixed. He said this is a big financial purchase and not settling for 2nd rate finish.
