Excited to be a few weeks behind you Re: GJ Gardner - Mandalay 298 - QLD 203Sep 06, 2016 9:58 pm Unfortunately we've got quite a lot on our plate at the moment which is taking our focus from the build. It is moving quick, which we're grateful for and I wish everyone's build the best and look forward to catching up on them soon. Here's a photo from today. Roof and gutters are ready. Very sad times and certainly helps me put a lot of things back in perspective. Apparently a few of the windows are scratched or not correct tint and will be replaced towards the end of build. We are amazed how quickly it's progressing. And I hope he got to see the slab before he passed. Re: GJ Gardner - Mandalay 298 - QLD 208Sep 07, 2016 7:58 pm Thanks Fiat, he was a great man and I'm very happy he got to see the slab and the plans. Dropped in on the way home today and guttering is about half done. Insulation is out the front, so guessing the roof will start this week too. Sliding/cavity door frames are made, and we've got a main bath. The family area with stackers either side is pretty cool. I hope you've taken some time to look after yourself. So glad he visited your slab xx Re: GJ Gardner - Mandalay 298 - QLD 210Sep 07, 2016 9:58 pm Sorry to confuse - Pop is grandad. We are all coming to terms. Your build certainly has started - very exciting. Re: GJ Gardner - Mandalay 298 - QLD 216Sep 08, 2016 7:38 pm Haha yeah mine's the little brother. I wish ours was cheaper than it is! Ours has some pretty big hidden costs like septic $16k and extra $17k for foundations. Not complaining though, we're stoked with our location and feel very lucky to be getting inclusions we've chosen. Coming from a 1981 3 bed 1 bath to this is going to be unreal. Mind you I may require a mobility scooter before I retire! Haha
Re: GJ Gardner - Mandalay 298 - QLD 219Sep 11, 2016 4:31 pm Windspray - we thought it was going to be a bit darker than this. We don't dislike it, but it's the exact same colour as our neighbour. Here's our outside selections again - shale grey fascia. Can't see the difference at the house between the fascia and guttering/roof to be honest. I checked the sheeting label on some sheets - it read some brand colour and then equivalent to windspray. We have basalt roof and gutters, yet I find it can look different depending on the amount sun and time of day. The more sun the lighter it seems. Plus it will look heaps different when it's against your bricks instead of a lovely green wrap!! May I ask why you chose not to use GJ Gardiner? I'm actually meeting with one of the sales guys tomorrow for an appointment. Definitely not signing anything yet… 3 13553 Hi all.
