Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 27, 2016 11:05 pm Hello, we have purchased land in Romsey and are currently looking at house designs and builders. There are so many to choose from. We like the look of the Varano305 by Bentley homes. Unfortunately there isn't a show home so we would be building from only looking at a plan.
Has anyone else built with Bentley recently? What were your experiences? Anyone building out at Romsey? S. Re: Building in Romsey, anyone built with Bentley? 3Apr 27, 2016 11:13 pm Jacinta.C We haven't built with Bentley. However we have just bought land in Romsey. We are building with JG King. Are you building in Lomandra or Ascot Rise? Hi Jacinta, We have bought in Lomandra, stage 4 so we do not expect title until Feb 2017. Where are you building? What design did you choose with JG King? Have you started building yet? S Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/853390798159713/ Re: Building in Romsey, anyone built with Bentley? 4Apr 27, 2016 11:16 pm Lomandra is lovely. The blocks are a great size in Stage 4 too. We have bought in Ascot Rise (just behind the golf course). We wanted to build in Lomandra but we got a very good deal on the block we bought. We decided to put the extra money we saved into the house instead. We are building the Astor from the Allure range. Our land should title within the next few months (fingers crossed), it is just waiting on registration now. Re: Building in Romsey, anyone built with Bentley? 5Apr 27, 2016 11:23 pm The Astor looks nice. What an ensuite! We drove around and checked out the Ascot land. It will be nice by the Golf Course. In the end it was the size of the lots at Lomandra that sealed the deal for us. I was originally wanting to build a ranch style house as the frontage is 30m but I think they may be out of our budget. Maybe we can win the lotto in the next few months I hope your land titles soon. I hope you will do a build thread so we can watch your build while waiting for our land to title! We looked at both Ascot Rise and Lomandra but ended up going with Lomandra due to the nice gardens/features and the NBN access. Re: Building in Romsey, anyone built with Bentley? 7Jul 06, 2016 1:50 pm Hi Rickardo05, When is your land due to title? Do you know if it has been delayed. Ours is due Feb17 but from what I've read these things are usually delayed. We also went with a Porter Davis home - the Hillside. What design did you go for? Have you chosen colours yet. Our WOS appointment is next month and at this stage we have no idea what to go for! Hi inexp We bought or land back in Feb/March and were told it would initially title in June however it has now been pushed back to late July/early August. We are hoping it tiles soon tho. We went with the Bermuda 23 with the added Alfresco option, Is Tracy your sales consultant? We chose out colours about 4 weeks ago at WOS, it wasn't too stressful as we knew what we wanted, the hardest part was sticking to a budget and not upgrading too many items. I suggest if you haven't already that you visit WOS several times before your appointment to get an idea of whats on offer and what you like etc. Did you go for a fixed house and land package? I take it if your building the Hillside (Lovely house) that you have a larger block on knox road? Cheers Re: Building in Romsey? 9Jul 11, 2016 6:17 pm The Bermuda is a nice house, especially with the added alfresco. I'm already dreaming of sitting under our alfresco sipping wine in the summer months!! Yes Tracy is our sales consultant. I think it is easier going with the consultant that is on site and she has been great. I had my eye on the larger blocks and hung out for stage 4 so yes, we have a block on Knox Road. I hope to be able to look at the farm opposite for many years to come before it may get developed. I went to World of Style on my own last month to give me some idea of what I want before I take my hubby with me. He doesn't like too many options. I am disappointed in the standard range of bricks and stone bench tops. Only 3 stone to choose from is pretty poor in my opinion. I thought there would be a cooler range to choose from. I was hoping to try and stay within the standard range on most things as we have added the 2nd alfresco and free standing bath in the ensuite upgrades. Good thing I like the whitish stone Did you upgrade kitchen cabinetry? What brick have you decided to go with? I wanted a lighter brick with darker roof but I'm not sure if the cream standard brick is too light or not enough contrasting colours in the brick. Have you met many of your neighbours yet? I sent you a PM Re: Building in Romsey? 11Jul 15, 2016 9:13 am I hope your land titles soon Rickardo. We are still waiting for our land to title in Ascot Rise. It is with council now, so hopefully not too much longer. Inexp - our standard options are also very similar ( even though we are with JG King). I think we have 4-6 stone options for our benches. We are yet to meet our neighbours. However, we know all the blocks down our side are sold. Re: Building in Romsey? 12Jul 21, 2016 9:50 pm We did receive a note from our conveyancers stating that due to inclement weather it is anticipated the plan of subdivision will be lodge by the end of August. I am not sure when it was supposed to go to council so I don't know how much of a delay that will cause. Jacinta, I hope council doesn't take too long so your land can title. The waiting is the pits.
