I see your slab went down about two and a half weeks before ours did, but your house is a lot bigger - fingers crossed though that they get a move on for you! Good news - the tiling has been started. The bathroom floor and all tiling to the laundry has been completed, our stone benchtop in the kitchen is in and the splashback in the kitchen has also been done. Bad news - splashback in the kitchen looks a bit suspect. One tile is badly discoloured (nope, not a reflection in the below pic) and some of the tiles around the power points have big cracks in them (yet some don't...) Pictures are a bit crap as they were taken through the glass door (we couldn't get in today). Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We've already emailed our CLO and sent her these pics (along with pics of the other power point which has two broken tiles around it) so I'm desperately hoping the tiles get fixed before the grouting begins and they become permanent. At least what we could see of the bathroom and laundry looked all good. We've also found a Solver paint that is as close to our window frames as possible for our lintels (Solver Lilium if you desperately want to know) so we've also emailed CLO about that - hopefully she's as nice as the SS and let's us change the colour. That may just be lines drawn on the tiles to know where to cut. Re: DAH Build in Landsdale WA - LOCK-UP 144Sep 06, 2016 8:30 pm I hope you're right spuddles76 !! Surely they will let you change the colour of the window steel work if they haven't already ordered it. If not what's the variation fee like? if it's outrageous maybe its better to just put it on a things to do list for when you've moved in? Re: DAH Build in Landsdale WA - LOCK-UP 146Sep 07, 2016 1:27 pm SallyS @nelleebellee It'll be on your Addenda under "External Metal". I see your slab went down about two and a half weeks before ours did, but your house is a lot bigger - fingers crossed though that they get a move on for you! The colour on our Addenda is "Not Applicable", not sure why as there is external metal. We did change our down pipe and verandah post colours a few months ago to a darker colour so I figure they will use that colour for everything. We were charged a $300 admin fee for changing the colour....craziness!! Yes, I see that you guys were a couple of weeks behind us....everyone seems to be catching up. Re: DAH Build in Landsdale WA - LOCK-UP 147Sep 08, 2016 1:26 pm Our kitchen tile issue has been sorted out (and our SS has sent us photos as proof - he's a pretty good guy!) and the lintel situation has been resolved, although we didn't get to use the Lilium paint which would match the frames perfectly. To go with a "new" colour was going to cost us as that specific paint hadn't been factored into our budget, however as a compromise we can paint the lintels in Surfmist as that colour IS in our budget (our metal post in the front porch is Surfmist). So while the lintels above the windows won't match the window frame colour exactly, it's probably close enough that we won't really notice it too much - that's a pretty good compromise in my opinion. Unfortunately the house has been locked up tight so we've had to go into creeper mode and peer through windows to see what is being done! It appears that a bunch of stuff has been delivered (we suspect the toilets and plumbing fixtures), Intelligent Homes have been through to do some wiring and the exterior of the house has been washed so I wonder if painting is next of the list of things to do? We'll probably find out when our CLO emails us tomorrow or Thursday morning. As long as around the Windows looks better than apologetic grey, it doesn't matter about the inside of the garage! A couple of weekends ago we went to both Kresta and ABC Blinds to take a look at their ranges. I liked what I saw in Kresta but the sales woman was SO impolite! She made us feel like we were interrupting her weekend and told us straight out (without even knowing our budget) that we wouldn't be able to afford shutters. So we left and went to ABC. I must admit I felt a bit underwhelmed by many of the choices on offer - and even though the salesman was nice, he didn't seem to want to talk about prices until he'd been through our house in person. Today we went to Decor Blinds and Curtains - what an absolute difference in customer service! The lady we spoke to asked to look at our floorplan then sat down with us and talked about the pros and cons of certain window treatments and then we got started on getting a quote drawn up with different options for certain windows (ie: we've asked to get shutters priced in for two windows but if they are too expensive then she's also going to quote us on sheers for those windows.) Nothing was too much hassle for her and we'll get a quote emailed through this week - if it's too high then we can go back next Saturday and talk about how to save money by substituting in cheaper products to achieve the look we want. I'd highly recommend anyone thinking about looking for their window treatments to go and check them out (we went to the Osbourne Park showroom.) Reminds me of that Pretty Wommen scene when she is asked to leave the Beverly Hills boutique! Big mistake, huge.....Lol!!!! I had to get quotes 12 months ago to put in our home loan valuation and ABC and Kresta wouldn't give me the time of day as (and one of them admitted this to me) it's a waste of time as you're only needing the quote for the bank. They also weren't interested in helping me work out what I wanted, suggesting verticals and the odd roller blind and when I suggested shutters, dismissing them like they were out of budget. What they didn't factor in when giving me their crap service is that, although I only needed I quote then, we did need to eventually purchase our window treatments from someone - what a shame they missed out on my order of wooden shutters, cellular blinds and sheers, a bit more substantial than builders range verticals.
