Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 20, 2016 12:24 pm My partner and I meet with HG on the 5th Jan and signed up on the 29th Jan, very exciting, we are first time home builders and owners and are building on a lovely 5 acre block SOR which we purchased 3 years ago. We both loved the floor plan of the Bellevue by HGWA because it is simple and open, We have gone with this floor plan and then the Washington Platinum Elevation, however will be incorporating wood on the garage door and entry way. Here is our plan. My only concern so far is the windows in the master bedroom, do you think it will be to dungeon like? My partner watches TV in the bedroom before bed and it was the only wall that could have a TV so we have reduced the window size. House Plan Re: P & L HGWA Build - SOR 2Apr 20, 2016 12:40 pm Hi we are building with home group as well. We are building a modified version of the southport. We have highlight windows as well and i think they are plenty of light. If you use light colours as decorations as well or light paint colours, will help as well Re: P & L HGWA Build - SOR 3Apr 20, 2016 12:46 pm To get more light you could put a window in your WIR but you would lose space in there. We have such a window in the robe. We are building a modified Southport. Having said the highlight window should give enough light and air. Goodluck with your build. Where is your block? That is our long term 20-year goal, to have a few acres somewhere picturesque. Our house is looking great, I have had a building inspector pop out to check the quality of the brickwork and said we should be very very happy so far. Our house front should look like this once completed, however we have chosen a wood garage and will have a stone piller Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: P & L HGWA Build - SOR 10Nov 25, 2016 11:01 am 21-Oct Earthworks Commenced Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 31-Oct Water Tank Installed 3-Nov Slab Down Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 17-Nov Brickwork Started Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: P & L HGWA Build - SOR 13Feb 22, 2017 2:49 pm Internal Plastering and White Set Complete, if anyone needs a plasterer contacting Lupica Plastering, they have done an amazing job. Yes the trusty white and grey. It's just so easy to match things and bring in bursts of colour through decor! We have started looking at furniture and we bought our fridge in the boxing day sales but other than that we will move in with what we have and upgrade as we go what about you?
