Obviously it is in my interest to have the inspection done before I make final payment. Has anyone had any experience with this? I know because I've talked to HIA and Consumer Affairs. Ask them in an email and get them to respond in an email. If they just call you, write to them to confirm that on this date, this day you rejected my attempt to bring in a professional inspector. Then with that letter you can take it to the next level. Don't let builders push you around. We pay them to do a good job but often it's a half past 6 job.
