Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 13, 2016 2:02 pm Hi all, Would appreciate comments from anyone who has built a concrete block house, or had a concrete block house built for them. What is the best way to cost all the material? Would you simply submit the plan to a local builder for quotes? I really want to nail down all my costs from a material and labour perspective........ It’s a very very simple design, built on a slab, and unfinished inside, so essentially just a shell with roof, plumbing pipes in slab, electrical conduit 2 * power points each room at most – that’s about it……. To save myself time, I’ve been trying to google for some construction financial models, however haven’t had so much luck. The design of my project is very simple, small, no bigger than 90m2 in floor plan area. It’s based on a South America build that was done very very cheap. (Yes labour is cheaper, but materials and design also very cheap and simple in this build) http://dornob.com/beauty-on-a-budget-in ... ock-house/ I’ve spent a significant amount of time on the Boral website downloading specifications for different types of builds, but if anyone out there has a model they have built, or know of one, and how to cost this idea in some way I’d appreciate it. Cheers, K PS - aware of concrete block short comings...... there is a few calculators you can use if you just google it 7 4672 because its not being managed properly. Also "properly" is too broad and too subjective a term to be able to pinpoint a single event as not being managed properly.… 1 2729 |
