Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 18, 2016 1:24 pm Another newbie here. We have just paid the $3,000 deposit on a hybrid Lyndhurst/Hartley. Being an interior designer, we plan to stick with the Standard Colours, and do our thing later on. Including the kitchen. Do we get soft closers on all drawers and cupboards as standard? However, it is the electrical that is causing me great impatience. Having spoken to an electrical contact, he advised us to have all the wiring done now and then come back at a later stage to install the light fittings, ceiling fans, extra power points to our specific requirements etc. I plan to purchase all our light fittings from AliExpress. I have done so for our last house, and saved a heap of moola. Afterall, the products all come out of China and the quality is just the same as our local store products. No names mentioned! I just ensure to only deal with reputable sellers, and that the fittings are all of Australian compliance. Having said all that, we really would much prefer to have MJ actually insert the GPO outlets upfront. Does anyone know how much they slug you per extra GPO? Pricelist anyone? So far, all I can find is that they include double power points in rooms. But not how many per room. The same for lighting...is is just a measly centre light fitting? ie batten light. Any info really appreciated. Re: Electrical standard and upgrades 2Aug 18, 2016 2:43 pm A batten fitting and a couple of Double GPO's per room is typical. Expect to pay about $80 for each additional double GPO. Some more info is at this link; http://anewhouse.com.au/2015/03/additio ... -fittings/ The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get !
