Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 10, 2016 3:10 am We have a 810 sqm vacant land in south coast,NSW where we wish to build multi dwelling but with a limited budget like 420k. We want to build a house and two granny flats. We talked with some builders...some are not interested in multi dwwlling, some suggesting duplex(two tiny adjacent units) and some asking to do the planning and DA approval part by ourselves, then they will make quote for the rest part of jobs. So we are totally scattered now and have no clue from where to start! Can anybody tell us please if it is possible to do what we want with this amount of noney? We also cant find enough builders in that area...we talked with some townplanner and draftspersons but their quotation seems too high for us. We want to do the multi dwelling cause we have a plan to make these investment properties later on and to fully utilise that large block. Please suggest us how to start. Thanks! Labour cost have increased (sky-rocketed), while material costs are about to increase? 2.Short of physically building it yourself... those costs are unobtainable.. and it will take 10 years or more,so your income is foregone during those years. 3.Land prices are fairly high in good areas so builders are reluctant to lower their costs..so I would recommend you take advantage of this and subdivide and sell off a portion of your block.goodluck Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Thank you so much everyone.
