I think that they could acheive that orvmost of it in two days, notvso sure abput one day. We were able to get our blinds installed before handover. Likewise, we got all our shutters and blinds installed along with solar panels and internal lighting fixtures prior to handover. But this is mainly due to a very long delay in handover. Btw, where did you build? It's either smashing incredible success or crushing hopeless defeat. There is no middle ground! - Calvin and Hobbes Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 423Dec 21, 2016 9:40 pm I still have hope for you red. I was amazed at home much as completed at ours over two days. It's physically impossible- eg, plasterer hasn't even been so painter can't start and, etc. It's frustrating because all these things were on the list when we had our walkthrough 2.5 weeks ago, some for much longer. We flagged issues with the bricks many months ago. Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 426Dec 22, 2016 9:08 am Anything that was already flagged I expect to be pushed through without waiting out the defects period. Guess we'll have that discussion tomorrow. Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 427Dec 22, 2016 9:19 am Super frustrating. Sorry to hear it. We heard some stories from our removalist about people moving into unfinished homes, including one with no flooring - just the bare slab. Sounds unbelievable but it's true. Fingers crossed *something* happens for you soon. How could they ever get an OC for that? Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 429Dec 22, 2016 10:33 am I am DYING of stress. Removalist now wants to start at old house at 8am (we asked for 10 because we’ll be at new house getting keys at 7.30). We still don’t have the occupancy certificate. We’re only half packed. We will have five (possibly six) trades in the house and there’ll be four separate deliveries. Half the people need to be paid in cash. Most need an adult present and we have no idea how that’s going to work when my partner is between two houses and I'll be at work. Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 430Dec 22, 2016 11:53 am Can you take a day off, Red? Sounds overwhelmingly stressful for your partner to juggle everything all at once. Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 431Dec 22, 2016 11:56 am I'm going to try to get out at midday. No chance whatsoever of a full day off. It is absolute chaos in my office. I have eight major projects I'm trying to wrap up before I finish. Our kids are going to have to help out with the logistics until then. Our daughter is pretty responsible - she's going to be in charge of making sure the right stuff gets into the removal truck. Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 432Dec 22, 2016 12:08 pm You poor thing... I hope everything will go well and that it will all work out in the end somehow. Fingers crossed!! Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 433Dec 22, 2016 1:13 pm Everything is falling apart! TV installers screwed up our booking even though we confirmed yesterday. Today they suddenly had it booked for the wrong day. After MUCH back and forth and anger and grumpiness they've now said they'll be there at 6pm tomorrow. Just as that is resolved my partner has messaged to say the fridge is not coming even though it too was booked for delivery. Don't know outcome of that one yet but I just beyond mad with the whole big mess. Really looking forward to Christmas with no fridge and no microwave in our unfinished house. Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 435Dec 22, 2016 3:18 pm We've managed to sort through a few things, though my poor partner has been on the phone nearly the whole day. Fridge will now come tomorrow, but that probably means bad news for some other sucker, because our fridge (ordered a couple of months ago) was not in the warehouse so they're giving us someone else's. I've just spoken to our SS about the fact that we STILL have no interim OC. I'm going to call the office if I don't hear back shortly. I'm really peeved that we've had to micro-manage every step of this process. Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 436Dec 22, 2016 3:24 pm Freaking hell red. You poor bugger. Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 438Dec 22, 2016 4:59 pm I am officially tearing my hair out now. I texted my SS at 9.30 this morning asking him to please chase up our interim OC. He didn't reply so at 2pm I phoned him and he said he'd follow up. At 4pm I texted again to say I still had no word and needed him to either get back to me or let me know who to speak to at the office. By 4.45 with no response I rang the office anyway, to be told only two people deal with OCs - one is on leave and one had finished for the day and won't be back before 9 tomorrow. I explained that we are handing over at 7.30am and she pretty much said too bad. I am annoyed we don't have the IOC but I am extra annoyed that our SS deals with issues by just ignoring them. Re: KDR Rawson Benham in Sydney 440Dec 22, 2016 10:17 pm Email exchange from this afternoon. Quote: Hi ----- I hope you are well. Just letting you know that I did receive your message late this afternoon. Apologies for not calling back but I am just out of the office. We have submitted photos of a couple of outstanding items to the certifier and I expect that the Interim OC will be issued I have begged them for a copy of the IOC tomorrow (their last day before the Christmas closedown). I will keep harassing them in the morning. If there is anything else that you needed please let me know. Kind regards ----- Quote: Thanks for the update ------, though I admit I'm very disappointed to be finding out at this late hour that the IOC has not actually been issued, when I have checked in several times and we were told to expect it Tuesday or Wednesday. We plan to move in tomorrow and have movers, trades and deliveries booked all day. We had no idea the IOC might not be ready. If it is not issued tomorrow that has big implications for us. Please give me an update as soon as possible tomorrow. I guess all we can do now is wait.
