Pre start was definitely an experience, still waiting back for the rest of our costings.. so far it looks like we did well and should be within the budget we set for ourselves had the external colour scheme picked out before we went in and then at the end of the day we decided on something completely different!! EEEK!!. Will post some photos of our selections a little later. Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82755 Re: First time builders, Home Group WA 51May 03, 2016 6:22 pm We finalised pre start today and are now being processed into drafting Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82755 Re: First time builders, Home Group WA 54May 17, 2016 3:50 am Hi Kristina Have found your thread. Looking forward to following along as we're also building the Bordeaux with changes. We have completely changed kitchen. Hubby doesn't like this style Bordeaux has. We have 4 kids 9, 7 & 2 yr old twins and have this style in our home now and they chase each other around it! ? Drives him crazy! Looking forward to seeing pics as it comes together! Can I ask how big your block is? It looks lovely and big! Re: First time builders, Home Group WA 55May 17, 2016 10:15 am mellycol6 Hi Kristina Have found your thread. Can I ask how big your block is? It looks lovely and big! Oh wow 4 kids and 2 year old twins - cute!!! The Bordeaux will be perfect for you all. Would love to see your kitchen plans - I will be following your thread We are on 3/4 of an acre so plenty of room for my partner to have his "man shed". You will enjoy it in Dawesville, I have friends and family in Florida Beach and Melros who do - we weren't far away in Port Bouvard and I loved it out there, if I could have stayed I would have.. but the other half is originally from Waroona and works 15 minutes away in Wagerup - so definitely makes sense for us to move closer to his work. What made you decide on the sea change? Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82755 Re: First time builders, Home Group WA 56May 17, 2016 11:35 am Kristina92 mellycol6 Hi Kristina Have found your thread. What made you decide on the sea change? Oh that's a lovely size! Would love something that big! Is Dawseville a fairly new area? I hadn't heard of it till recently and seems to still be a few blocks here and there left. Yes, That does make sense to move closer to your partners work. Going back few yrs ago now I used to live NOR and work SOR and the drive to and from work was a struggle! Was just as exhausting as the day at work!! Our house, now is prob HALF ? the size of the Bordeaux!! (We built this one too 6yrs ago. At this stage we only had the two boys and didn't think we'd have more but wanted our girl and got a bonus of a extra boy too! ?) So we definitely needed the extra room. We had been going back and fourth on different "upgrades" to do to this pl but in the end we thought with everything else we want to change, upgrade and add it's not worth it. Thought may as well build a new pl! We knew we wanted to build again one day anyway so thought may as well now! We are just sorting out if we can keep our current pl as a rental. Fingers crossed.. Then the cheaper & bigger land sold my hubby! Haha ! Will post pics of my plans on my thread later. We've gone for the U shaped kitchen and swapped with the family area so we can have part window splash backs. (Sorry about my novel!) ? It is and my partners plan is to go the acreage next time... we will see how we go with this one haha (considering I was adamant I was never moving to a country town 5 years ago) There's an old and new area, your kids will love being so close to the beach I hear you, my commute to work is an hour there and back - Mandurah to East Perth. Definitely exhausting. Little bit excited that I won't have to worry about peak hour traffic in Waroona. Sounds like a gorgeous big family. Good decision on building again and I love the idea of the window splashback!!! What stage are you up to? Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82755 Re: First time builders, Home Group WA 58May 17, 2016 6:49 pm We are still very early stages yet. Trying to get the design absolutely right! Hubby says no more moving. (We said that when we moved in here too!) Don't want that feeling of "wish we did this or wish we did that" Trying to sort land out too. Found a block we like. The guy at HGWA is just double checking a few things for us. What stage are you up too?
