Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 28, 2016 7:05 am Hello We have finally decided to build our own home. After many years of renovating other people's decisions it's now our turn to make a home 'ours' the first time round.
As we needed to design our home to incorporate a granny flat for my Mum we have decided to go with a smaller but amazing company and builder called Individually Designed Homes ( ID Homes IDH ) and Glenden Homes. I must say to date our experience has been well and truely beyond our expectations. Looking forward to interacting and learning from the amazing Homeone community over the coming year. Re: Our Home amongst the gum trees in Mundoolun Queensland 3Mar 29, 2016 6:28 am So we are at council approval stage with our build. Fingers crossed we hear back this week and can get started here is our design. We designed this ourselves as we just couldn't get any project builders' designs to work for us. Our builder made some awesome tweaks to the original design and we are really happy with the result . The home is north facing at the rear and we are hoping it will catch the beautiful afternoon breezes on our block. Luckily we have already cleared the building site and in the process dug our holes for water tanks and septic to go in so there is water there if needed Did you see how big my mums kitchen is compared to mine lol she's over the moon, can't wait to spoil my mummy. She deserves it so much. Didn't want her being cramped in a little area. I don't know what they're like in QLD but in Vic they operate on 'Fiji time' ? Your mum has to be happy with that kitchen! Has she seen the plans yet? Since you are on trickle feed water supply, I'd be looking at a VSD water pump, like the DAB EsyBox like we have here. I know you have to have the kitchen sink and a toilet plumbed to the the trickle feed supply, but get a tank water feed to your kitchen sink as well. You will save money in the long run. You've probably seen the recent thread in the Jimboomba Woods FB group about someone getting a huge water bill on full mains pressure water, and on this side our water bill was just for 3 kilolitres of water for the quarter. $11.06 worth of water Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld.
