Re: Seaside at Moana - Statesman Homes. Some queries 26Nov 18, 2016 6:26 pm Yes its great to see all the work after just seeing bare land for so long, time will fly hopefully. We have to live with our Adult children after January so it'll be payback for all the timers they moved out and moved back in with us over the years Also hoping to go away in the caravan for a couple of months while we're waiting. Fun times ahead ! Re: Seaside at Moana - Statesman Homes. Some queries 27Nov 30, 2016 7:43 pm It's certainly growing now! A few of us are at lock up now. Some queries 33Dec 03, 2016 11:43 am Hi mochinbach, thanks for info on our block. going down to take a few photos today. Hey about the RWT, Hickinbotham was informed by council that we need 1000lt + 2000lt (BFire) RWT because we are within 500m from beach... I will go and check it with council on Monday... Well you are in lock up. I just requested on your facebook page Re: Seaside at Moana - Statesman Homes. Some queries 34Dec 07, 2016 10:50 am Just a heads up guys about brick work.... We're in a situation where ours is pretty bad and so we've had an independent inspection and are now waiting to see what happens next. Keep an eye on your brickies... Apparently the rules are supposed to be that the mortar is 10mm (give or take 2/3)- ours is very inconsistent and in places is over 2cm. Our window ledges are not smooth and flat (they look more like a wave), we have wonky bricks in places and the mortar is different colours all over the house :/ Will keep you updated. 05/05 Building agreement and plan approved by statesman 09/09 Land Settlement 19/09 Got OK to Build 23/09 Start Digging the Footings 30/09 Concrete poured! 18/10 Timber Framework Completed Re: Seaside at Moana - Statesman Homes. Some queries 35Dec 07, 2016 10:54 am That doesn't sound very good at all. Sounds like a brickie in a hurry or new to it or something. I hope you get some resolution for your issues. I assume you have taken lots of photos and stuff too. Good luck Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Seaside at Moana - Statesman Homes. Some queries 36Dec 10, 2016 8:49 am I'm very annoyed, when we did our first quotation at the display homes on our list was a panel lift door, so then we do our selections and nobody said anything about the panel lift door just asked what colour we want. So then we get out selections sheet posted for us to sign off on and notice on the builders plan theyve written MANUAL across the garage door.. We ring up and say that cant be right we dont want a manual door and nobody asked us if we wanted an electronic one at selections or when we first signed up. Nowhere on any of the sheet did it say Manual. They said oh no worries we can change it but it'll cost you an extra $425 plus an administration fee of $500. We dont have a problem with the upgrade but $500 fee because we werent asked by anyone who are suppose to know their job and ask all the questions at selections. So my husband is fuming and now we have a manual lift door on order because we refuse to pay for their mistake. Also the person at selections is blaming the guy that signed us up and hes say it selections fault. grrrr.. Re: Seaside at Moana - Statesman Homes. Some queries 37Dec 10, 2016 11:29 am Yeah it's a common problem with buildings that things are implied or mentioned, but don't make it into the paperwork. Then later on the person is either not available or the next person says its not noted in the plans and you are stuck with it. It's hard to know what to do sometimes, but try to pick your battles. I would try and insist you speak to the persons supervisor and say you are willing to pay the upgrade but they should waive the admin fee. I mean it's not like they would have even ordered the garage doors yet anyway. Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Seaside at Moana - Statesman Homes. Some queries 38Dec 10, 2016 11:52 am yes we've built with Hickinbotham Before so we know you get pushed from one person to the other. We've tried to sort it out but they wont budge. Similar thing happened when we built last time, we said we wanted it exactly like a certain display home and they missed an important part in the building process and said we didnt specify about that particular thing which was in the display home but it apparently was our fault. We're just gonna let it go and put a motor on the door later its not worth the stress, been there done that..lol There is a whole lot more to know than just the answers you seek but they are a good start.
