C U S T O M. C O R A L. B R O N T E. 43 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=79581 Thanks - we're pretty happy with the way it' turned out. We had a landscaper do it as it was far too big for us to attempt on our own. The tree on the nature strip is just an old plumb tree (my wife hates it and wanted one of the contractors to run it over with their excavators!) Are you on track to be in by Xmas? We are finalising the quote on our queenscliff with the marine facade as well. Did they allow you to run network cables and your theatre pre-wiring during the build phase? Or did you have to get fairhaven to do that? Also, how many power points did you have put in? I would be really interested in all the upgrades including costs you have chosen and if you qualified for one ot their promotions ie their current tailored to you package. also what electricals did you do ie lights, tv plugs ect and oven rangehood dishwasher are they standard? Did you have anyextra costs to bring it up to 6 star energy ratings? Also what was the price difference between the quote paperwork you sign before colour selection appointment and final costs?? Lastly as this is the first time we have built can you explain the stages you went through? We have done a walk through, preliminary quote, and are now about to finalise our quote read for colour selection?? Site start 11 July 2017 Re: Building Queenscliff 416 with Fairhaven Homes 267Dec 26, 2016 12:10 pm We did the theatre & projector pre wiring through Fairhaven so not sure whether they will allow you to bring your own contractor on site during the build. We added extra double power points so that all rooms had at least 2 doubles and we added a few more here & there as we needed. The total build price for us was $447K and that was when the base prices was $290K with the promotion that they were running at the time (it's gone up $48K since then) and we added about $100K of options/upgrades/electrical ( I think we have about 77 down lights, 6 data points with cat 6 cabling, 3 phone points & 4 TV points) and our site costs (including energy rating) were about $60K. If you're not doing a KDR, then your site costs shouldn't be as horrific as ours. They included an Electrolux 900mm oven & Rangehood & AEG dishwasher as standard. Depending on how much you option it up, you should probably allow another $100K to your base price to give you an idea of your total spend. But it doesn't stop there, as we have spent another $80K plus on excavation & retaining wall, driveway & path around the perimeter & landscaping since handover of the house. And then there's all the new furniture/toys for the inside, but that's another story..... Hope that helps. Sure would - I was very particular about who I would allow onsite post handover as they were going to be working in a very tight & precarious situation (they were working 1-2 meters from the rear wall of the house which has a 2m x3m window and the excavator with the rock breaker would be about 2 meters above the FFL of the house and they had to chip out shale/mudstone & drill through it to build the wall) and they also had to dig & truck out about 100 tons of spoil. These guys were the ultimate professionals, very slick & switched on, cleaned up every day without having to be told/reminded and were probably the best trades on site during the entire process. Did you arrange the building permit/engineer or did they? They did it all.
