Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 10, 2016 1:04 pm Hi, I'm looking to get an idea of what has been considered reasonable for exposed aggregate driveway that is not completed as a part of a package with a builder - we are going external. Can you tell me what kind of costs I'd be looking at or how much yours cost and what the m2 was? Thanks Re: Cost of Driveway (external to builder)? 2Mar 10, 2016 3:54 pm Material wise, they cost around $35 to $40 per sqm. Add labour you'll usually end up around $100/sqm. We have no idea what ours costed, because we were quoted $80 per sqm, then half way through the job, they said they made a mistake and it actually costs $150 per sqm. We said no and they ran off with our deposit. Re: Cost of Driveway (external to builder)? 3Mar 10, 2016 6:31 pm Our driveway worked out to approx $130m2 and our driveway totals approx 110m2. Our driveway is on a decent slope so I believe that added to the cost. We had a guy quote 5000 but he tried telling us no road base was needed. Builder amd all other quotes disagreed. Be careful you want it to last ,not crack in a couple of years. Thanks Pulse, thats really helpful and very much appreciated. Also thanks for the pointer on sheathing, thats me watching too many american youtube videos! 6 2750 Fair Trading can issue orders to rectify and complete but once the matter goes to NCAT these orders are automatically vacated.
