Re: Our First Home with RedInk Homes 45May 31, 2016 11:43 pm Hi Nyan, congrats on the box, a sign that site work is going to start soon. things seem to be moving quickly for you We have just finished building with Redink, got the key about 2 weeks ago, now busy with main flooring, splashback, fitout WIR, painting, paving.... We had very good experience with Redink with our first build. Small issues happened along the way, but I have to say, Redink has tried their very best to sort things out for us. I'm sure you will enjoy your build just as much as we did. All the best!! Did you happen to have an independent building inspector throughout your build to make sure that everything was up to standard? Re: Our First Home with RedInk Homes 48Jun 03, 2016 2:35 pm Yay for the approval!! We had inspector only for the PCI and glad we did it. Nothing major found, mainly minor stuff but if we were to do PCI ourselves, we would not be able to see them. I think that's what their value is I guess. Our Redink build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81681 Re: Our First Home with RedInk Homes 49Jun 11, 2016 12:05 am So the footings for our slab was done yesterday! We ended up getting an inspector just in time too (the day before!) because redink didnt give me a date for the slab being done until I called them, which just happened to be the day before they planned on doing it. They seem happy to work with the inspector too, which is really good. The slab was due to be poured today, but it was called off due to weather and rebooked for tomorrow. Re: Our First Home with RedInk Homes 51Jun 15, 2016 10:24 pm So we had the footings inspected on Friday with everything being reported as being okay. The slab was meant to be poured that day, but was delayed until the Saturday due to rain. We went and had a look at the block on Saturday evening and discovered that copies of our house plans had been left behind in the sand, and that they had been looking at 2 different versions of the plan when the plumbers put in the pipes. RedInk has said that the plumbers used the incorrect plan and will fix it. The inspector on the other hand is saying that measuring the slab and making sure the pipes is in the correct location is not what they do and washed their hands of the problem. I have contacted them and told them that I am not impressed that all they looked at was the water proofing and barriers and am waiting for them to rectify the issue. Re: Our First Home with RedInk Homes 55Jul 04, 2016 6:03 pm So i managed to get a 50% refund from the inspectors, though in hindsight, i still think we should have got more back. We will not be using them for the rest of the build. We are now up to the bricks stage, which commenced last Thursday. Funnily enough, that is the same day we finalised all of our house plans ready for the build. We also noticed that the pipe work for the downpipes near the laundry are located in front of windows. Don't stress about the pipes - they put a little elbow on them underground if needed and relocate the drains to the correct position Our Custom Dale Alcock build in the Village at Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78620 Re: Our First Home with RedInk Homes 59Jul 06, 2016 1:55 am Wellard2ndTimers I'm not sure what you mean about the brickwork under the windows? Don't stress about the pipes - they put a little elbow on them underground if needed and relocate the drains to the correct position Hi Wellard, They have cut a brick in two uneven pieces and put one piece at each end, rather than just have a full brick sonit matches the brickwork under the other window next to it. 11 41636 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site!
