Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 17, 2020 10:30 am Hi! I am new to this forum, so please pardon me if this post is in the wrong section. We are FHB in Melbourne ( eastern suburb) and we just bought a house with the original intention of knocking it down and rebuilding our dream house. Our settlement is in 60 days and we wanted to arrange everything that we can before we settle so we can start building as early as possible since we are also still renting (double cost). We are struggling on how/where to start- i.e. given the limited budget, can we really rebuild? If we build since we dont want a volume builder style house, not fancy but we want our design/layout, can we afford it? If starting from scratch outside our budget, can the property still be renovated? What are the pros and cons of renovating and rebuilding? How to we select a builder? What is a good cost/Price? We have so many questions right now. Is there a one stop shop or go to person/place who can answer most if not all of our questions and hopefully can guide us through the process? To give you an idea, here are the photos of the property: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hi there, I'm a conplete newbie to this, but I'm looking to put a floor down in my 6x9m shed.
