Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 61Jul 09, 2016 10:18 am lazybones1987 I got my first rate notice today. Interestingly, the council have valued the land about $45K less than what I paid for the land. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 62Jul 09, 2016 10:26 am Great to see that this thread is abt to be converted in Corner block in Mango Hills. If so, add one more. I am in Stage 10 - Corner block 1090 Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 64Jul 13, 2016 3:08 pm Ok....so been moving around a lot with builders since a while...done with the choice....we are building Sheridan 38 with Oxford facade Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 66Jul 13, 2016 8:32 pm karlee Hi Everyone, We are also building in Capestone on Campbell Drive. We are building with Plantation That's great. We are also building on Campbell Drive with plantation. What's your lot number? Ours is 1004 Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 67Jul 13, 2016 11:40 pm Good to see more people on this thread. With regards to the driveway concreting, who has not gotten this done through the builder? Also, could someone provide an estimate on how much to budget for this? In my case, the pavement does not go along the front of my lot, so no crossover is applicable. I think our driveway was about 6 or so for exposed agg Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 69Jul 14, 2016 8:35 pm Ours was $6k for about 75sqm of exposed agg. We used Concreting Qld, they did a nice job but were hard to get in contact with - very busy I think. Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 71Jul 14, 2016 10:06 pm Thanks for all the responses guys. Appreciate it! lazybones1987 I'm getting my builder (Plantation) to do the driveway and alfresco slab. It cost me about 5K. Did they mention the volume of concrete they would use for the driveway? One builder had given a quote for 60 sq m, and in manderinne's case they needed 75 sq m. Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 73Jul 30, 2016 6:14 pm Hi all, Just wondering if anyone can help us out with a query. We are trying to find out what the basic inclusions are for NBN provisioning; the builder has said they will provide "an empty box in garage and conduit to the outside" but we are really not sure what this means. They also offer a NBN move in pack that includes some data cabling and data points- which we do not want as hubby works in networking and will do all data points post handover- thus... we just want to know what we need from the builder to ensure when we move in we can organise connection to NBN- any info? Thanks! Thanks! If it was anything like Clarendon Homes, which I'm sure they are all the same, they will have conduit running from the NBN pit to the side of your house (usually the side with your meter box) and then run conduit from there to your garage somewhere. NBN Fibre has a black fibre cable I think from memory up to the side of your house (PCD). From the PCD, a white fibre cable runs through the conduit through to garage, which is where the NTD goes. Are you building a single storey or double storey house? If you are building a double storey it might be a pain to run your networking after the fact. I built a double storey and got approx 24 runs done, which means the crappy Hills Hub box they were offering to me wasn't going to cut it. I ended up altering the plan and getting a problem cabinet box. If your hubby is into networking etc, I'd suggest you work out where you want your comms to go and make allowances for that. If you are building single storey, you should have no issues doing the networking afterwards. Single story so as far as networking post handover it shouldn't be an issue- he has done it in existing homes before- just lots of crawling in roof space Sounds like it should be fine, we just want to make sure when they refer to "conduit to the outside" they don't just mean from internal garage box to outside of house, they actually mean to pit. The worst nightmare would be not getting it right now and having to rip up the driveway to get it where it needs to go!!! I have emailed our SS again however even she does not seem to have the information, I guess its still a 'new' thing! We were looking at blocks directly opposite the park in the new stage, but the land doesn't register until December. Think the previous sale on this block fell through.
